I am looking at land in Tasmania about 100km from Hobart. I guess the prices quoted are only for building in major cities? What sort of premium do you have to pay to get a build done 100km from a major centre? Local builders will know local tradies to avoid travel and accommodation for a remote location build. If not using a project home but happy to go with a generic basic design then are such designs available off the internet that a builder could work to without incurring architect costs? If buying off the internet make sure you are getting plans that meet Australian Building and Energy Codes.
