Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 24, 2017 11:58 pm We have purchased a block of land that has been subdivided (its not in a new estate). The builder has added a pit and pipe to site works, is this a requirement? He explained the land developer should have done it but they usually don't. I don't even understand why we need this? Can anyone please shed some light on the NBN pit and pipe? I cant get a straight answer from nbnco either. Re: NBN Pit & Pipework 2Dec 26, 2017 11:36 pm My understanding is that the pit and pipe design is required due to the creation of a new lot which would not have a communication / NBN pit currently. This ensures your property has no issues being connected to the NBN when it becomes available. Do you know if this is the land developers responsibilty or will it be mine when I build? I was quoted $1450 😥 Re: NBN Pit & Pipework 4Dec 27, 2017 10:04 am Generally the person who subdivides the land should do it, however I don't believe it gets put down as a condition on the WAPC approval, so they don't do it to save themselves money. We have a waiver that a client can sign if they are adamant that they don't want to do it, however it's really in your best interest to do it. I'm not sure if your builder does the same thing though? Thanks, I definitely want to do it if it hasnt been done. Wish it was clear that it was the developers responsibility then i would follow up with them. |
