Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 262Apr 30, 2018 10:31 pm J278 Wow you’re moving along fast. Feels like we just finished tiles. Looking good! It's great. I am really enjoying watching your build approach the finishing line. Speaking of finishing line, does anyone have any tips on what to look out for during PCI? I'm starting to think ahead about what i should be looking out for & to compile a list. I will also have an inspector attend PCI to do final checks which will hopefully pick up on the things i will no doubt miss. Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 263May 01, 2018 10:48 am Hey Summitlovin, I just had my PCI yesterday with Easystart/Summit. Our building inspector said the build was of a really high standard and it was nice to see as about 60% of the builds he sees are substandard. Things he picked up were minor like sticky doors that will need a little readjustment so that can close easily. Couple of dents in our sliding door tracks and some minor render damage - all of which our SS is adressing tomorrow. Great to see your progress, it wont be long now. Being locked out feels dreadful! Congrats on your PCI! Sounds like it went well & it is comforting to know that the inspector said it was of a high standard. Thank you for the insight. I have already spotted something with the gutter or fascia. I just didn't know how picky i should be Enjoy your new home! Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 265May 01, 2018 4:47 pm Almost there! When do you think PCI will be? Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 266May 01, 2018 5:09 pm nicolac34 Almost there! When do you think PCI will be? I’m leaning towards first week of June. I’m going to send the SS an email tomorrow or Thursday if I’ve not heard from him to see if he has a date yet. He said once tiles are done he could provide a date 😊 Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 267May 01, 2018 6:49 pm Summitlovin nicolac34 Almost there! When do you think PCI will be? We’ve just been told lock up next week, so going by 6-8weeks from lock up we should be first week of July ish which makes sense as we are about a month behind you by slab down dates. Sounds like a good guesstimate to me! I’ll post when I’ve got a PCI date to help give you a better idea of what to expect/when to expect it Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 271May 02, 2018 9:17 pm It's getting to that point in the build where i have ants in my pants & it can't move quick enough haha! No idea, i have emailed the SS tonight but not sure when i will get a response. As i was leaving the house today i remembered he said he was going away but i can't recall when that was. Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 272May 02, 2018 10:08 pm Flying along now, your tiling and bench colours have turned out very nice even with the green tinge 🤣. Bit late to the party for some reason I missed getting the notification on Monday, only just seen the pics. I’m really stoked about the tiling as that was probably the most stressful part for me in terms of prestart. I think the green really gives the kitchen a little something extra 😂. My friends Mum thought the green was the actual colour of the bench not the protective film! Had a good laugh about that hahaha Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 274May 03, 2018 1:35 pm Have my PCI date. Yeah, will have dates tonight if all the final things happening but I think he said 28th the house will be done. 2 weeks ahead of what he said a few weeks ago which is great. I’m going to see if the SS will allow the crossover to be done during PCI period as it’s outside. Then it’s just lights to be done so I can move in. Also going to try organise as much as I can with summit/the bank in advance to try get a quick turnaround on payment Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 277May 05, 2018 2:42 pm SS has given the green light for the crossover to be done at PCI. I'm in the process of lining up a quote for security doors & a gate. CBA have sent notification that the house is nearly done & to allow 7 days for payment/their inspector to view the house before i get my keys. Door was open yesterday so mum and i got a sneak peek. Plumber may have to come back and review laundry plumbing as there was a puddle of water in the cupboard but i will look at that again during PCI. Paving, air con, insulation & painting on the agenda this week Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: First Build with Summit Perth WA 278May 06, 2018 11:18 pm Yay, on the home strech now. I had a call from our banks valuer last week, think they got a bit ahead of themselves. Oh really, to book in your valuation? I am still waiting to hear back from the broker as to how i can fast track payment. I think if i recall correctly from another forum they had the bank do up a cheque and then the customer went to pick the cheque up. Will have to have a hunt through some forums to see if i can find the info. You shouldn't be too far off PCI?!
