Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 02, 2017 8:40 am My parents are building a split level home with Montgomery homes - my mum is after a dark brick that doesn’t throw off any brown tones. They are having a monument roof and rendering the front in grey and white tones. Does anyone have any pictures of bricks they were really happy with? They are thinking PGH Apollo but worried about the painted finish chipping... it’s a $4000 upgrade from their standard range (standard range are all creams, red and browns) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Lindsay & Ben (Building a Noosa 26 at Wallis Creek, Gillieston Heights) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81467&p=1524570#p1524570 Re: Brick feedback 4Dec 02, 2017 12:55 pm I think the chiffon would be a good choice with the monument roof. We went eclipse, which is black, but against the monument still look a bit brownish and make the monument a bit blue. Hope they don't get our SS. He can't do his job and has a really crap brickie that works for him. Your lucky yours was good probably better then mine and they knew they were even rendering over it, haha. Our SS is the legal affairs guy for Montgomery so you would think he would have everything perfect and would be on top of everything. He hasn't contacted us/given us any updates for 2 months. Montgomery still demand all the money and don't have the decency to reply to my complaints. I have even sent them to the owners, no phone calls or no email replies. The last time we got a reply from him is when we sent him a huge email telling him the plumbing was all out (so it was fixed early and not after waterproofing/tiling). I'm a Graphic Designer and my partner is a High School teacher and every mistake we have picked up and he hasn't picked up anything. He even believed the plumbing was all right and we told him numerous times it wasn't, and even said he went on site to check it (doubt he would of )and then replied again and said he was correct so I had to draw him a diagram so he could understand! Crazy right?! So stressful for us, they are all hopeless. I haven't heard many good comments and I know a couple of people building with them. Hopefully your mum will have a different experience because ours and many others has been not good at all. Even at sales/tender stage, our sales guy was so hopeless. Hope they find the perfect brick! I'm surprised they are letting them have a dark slurry brick. I mean I am happy with a lot of the quality, that's the only thing getting me through right now (besides the brick work). I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13442 |
