So grateful for them helping us out. Really excited to walk through it on Sunday or Monday While we have been getting house stuff for a over a year now (gotta grab those bargains!) It's been close enough to actually start looking out for some furniture. We wanted a concrete coffee table, and we fell in love with a Nick Scali one, but not the price tag - on SALE for $500 HAHAHA. We looked around for a few months but our brains kept comparing everything to the Nick one. While I was gumtree'ing for round tables, i stumbled upon the EXACT table for a fraction of a price. A couple of scratches, but it's concrete so we will go with 'it just completes the look' I am hoping it's not too big for the space but for the bargain we got it for, it's worth taking the risk for Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also managed to find an Ikea Besta tv cabinet from gumtree as well. We also picked up our IKEA PAK system wardrobes while they were having a spend and save promotion on. Re: Coral Homes / Avoca 23 / START DATE: April 11th 102May 03, 2018 1:47 pm Still just that week behind us. We have tiles on now. The coffee table looks so nice. I can't wait to start shopping for the house, but will have to wait as I have no space in our rental property. I can't wait to start shopping for the house, but will have to wait as I have no space in our rental property. My dad had just called to ask what was next, and I pretty much told him i just look at your thread hahaha. since our SS didn't tell us for the upcoming weeks. So handy you being a week ahead I tell ya I have a few tubs full of kitchen pans, cutlery sets, baking dishes, towels, linen, pillows in my cupboard. but it's started to leech around the floor HAHA. We are lucky that both our parents are not far away from where we are now, so the coffee table is stored at my partners parents place, and our tv cabinet and pax system is at my dads as he has the space. even though there's actually no room for anything else, we are going to get the rest of the stuff later when the build slows down a bit and it should keep us busy while we wait. Cannot wait for everything to have it's place though, and not stub my toe on random boxes Re: Coral Homes / Avoca 23 / START DATE: April 11th 104May 03, 2018 2:04 pm CC7 bestspecials See, you are only a week behind us. We have our appointment with the Electrician on Tuesday 8 May as they are starting the electrical rough-in (and to see if we want anything extra or changes). I do need to change a power point and add an extra one, so that is good. All I have bought is 8 coffee mugs which are still in a box. LOL!! I saw them and loved them. We realised when we met with our SS that our house doesn't come with an aerial, so we have to bring that up with our electrician what power point are you changing? We need to change a couple of battens to downlights haha, and maybe move one of the lounge downlights as we have one in front of the tv that i worry may be annoying if the lights were on. Weren't too happy with the girl that helped us out at that stage, so i'm sure the true professional will know what is best so we will ask them when we meet them on site and we are supplying our own fans too, so we have to get on top of that, the only thing we are liking (with a slimmer light attached to the fan) is from Beacon Lighting, but i'm not sure how good they are Re: Coral Homes / Avoca 23 / May 2nd - We have frames! 106May 03, 2018 6:35 pm We added in an aerial, but did it a colours (long story). We put a power point in the pantry (as we were going to put the modem in there) but decided to move it so we won't need a power point in the pantry, it will be moved to the other side of the same wall (in the small hallway near the garage door). I may add another power point to the middle bedroom because it looks like our son may be moving in with us too and they always have lots of electronic stuff. We have 4 downlights in the family room, but made sure that they are on different switches, so the 2 near the TV are on one switch and the 2 away from the TV are on another. The man who helped us at Clipsal was great, I think his name was Brent or something like that. We aren't having lights on our fans and are just getting the ones from Clipsal. Our son will be a qualified electrician in October, so if we don't like them, we will get him to change them over. It was only $40 extra for them to supply. We also have to buy our pillar lights and spotlights as I didn't really like the ones they offered, I will find out on Tuesday when they need them. Looking forward to getting better photos on the weekend and to see what else has been done. I am assuming that the roof tiles will have been pointed and should be finished. Re: Coral Homes / Avoca 23 / May 2nd - We have frames! 107May 08, 2018 5:32 am A couple of snaps of the frames, and also two issues... Our wide hallway 😍 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Living space Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Everything was as expected in terms of sizing and layout, happy that the pantry extending doesn’t make the media room too small. Our front window to the house is really off centered inside, and not ‘barely noticeable from inside’ as described when they fixed the change. But it is what it is now Did notice a frame overhand in the master though, I’m assuming when we bring this up they will have something added to support it? Can't wait for the roof, and not just because it will stop the bird poop on the slab hahaha Re: Coral Homes / Avoca 23 / May 2nd - We have frames! 110May 14, 2018 4:55 pm We went out on Saturday. Gutters and fascias were on. The issue with the overhang had been filled as our SS said would happen. He told us early this week our roof would be finished and the crack near the portico will be filled when the windows went in, and judging by the photo our neighbour sent us just today, the roof is almost finished. And the windows are in! Didn't think it would happen so fast, so really pleased with the info he has been sending us prior Here's a back view of the roof/windows Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Coral Homes / Avoca 23 / May 2nd - We have frames! 113May 14, 2018 6:14 pm Dylandbrooke Its looking fab!!! Re: Coral Homes / Avoca 23 / May 14th - Roof & Windows 115May 16, 2018 12:59 pm Went in for our sparky meet up this morning, SS dropped in too. Really happy with how things are going, we had only questioned about a toilet pipe being not in the center and if it would an issue with slight blockage later down the road. In email he told us that the wall faced toilets have lots of playing room, and they usually put a join piece on when they are a little off center, but did say it could be moved over. Super surprised to see it had been moved to the center when we rocked up there today. Really love our SS, he's honest and on top of things. data had been put in, roof was finished (fun seeing the whirlybird from inside) baths were in (shame there's no actual tap and you know, ...well walls, I would have loved a bath haha) Windows were all in and its great to see how big they really are. Front door was on! We only realised when we turned the hallway to leave haha Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Coral Homes / Avoca 23 / May 14th - Roof & Windows 117May 16, 2018 1:21 pm CC7 Went in for our sparky meet up this morning, SS dropped in too. It should let in some decent light Re: Coral Homes / Avoca 23 / May 14th - Roof & Windows 120May 16, 2018 7:04 pm Dylandbrooke Looking really good and soooo glad your SS is great. They do make all the difference! I do love your facade. Reallly wish i just bit the bullet and spent more on a better facade, like yours. It was something we wanted from the beginning. While it isn't tiny, it's still one of the smaller houses Coral do, so we wanted the higher facade to create the illusion of something bigger and grander hahaha. I'm still in love with the island design and kitchen upgrades you did though, so I think you probably picked a great choice spending the budget there. I mean you do live inside the house, not outside haha *hopes my facade can't hear me "i still love you"* I'm just hoping our render colour and garage door look nice, I hope the contrast is enough between them both. That's one of those things where we are hoping it works out or we just mark it as 'things to know for next time' Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14177 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4376 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5492 |
