Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Vantage 35 - New Build 13Nov 24, 2017 8:14 pm JAMBY Okay cool, I was just curious. I’m building again soon and was just seeing if there were some other benefits I wasn’t aware of I prefer sliding ones purely for the volume of air they let in, although having the awning ones on the side the sea breeze howls in from is great as it restricts airflow a bit better. I have them in my bedroom too though and although they do open quite far I just don’t get the same airflow the kids bedrooms have with their sliding ones. On another note, those bathrooms are awesome! Hi Jamby, Thank you I got curious and googled benefits of awning windows and here's what I found. Reduces external noise - my partner would love this. Better insulation. Aesthetic. Can be opened even whilst raining (Yaay! ) Improved energy efficiencies. Yeah, sliding by far have better airflow. Great to hear about your second build. Where is it and how far are you in the build process. Re: Metricon Vantage 35 - New Build 14Nov 24, 2017 9:42 pm Maddy178 JAMBY Okay cool, I was just curious. I accidentally left my daughters open the other day and her carpet got wet haha oops. And insulation as well. Good to know, I can already think of a couple of spots they’ll be preferable now! I’m building in Geraldton WA. We’ve had the block of land for a couple of years and have a plan drawn up, just waiting to hear on a couple of quotes. We love the first house we built but have had 2 kids since then and require a bit more room now. I’m simultaneously excited and dreading building again, I think I’ve forgotten how consuming it is and all the work after handover! Looking forward to watching your build! I love the plan, how exciting Re: Metricon Vantage 35 - New Build 18Nov 28, 2017 10:01 pm JAMBY Maddy178 JAMBY Okay cool, I was just curious. I love the plan, how exciting That's exciting. I have been to Geraldton a couple of times - as I work for a Property Group. This is my first build but to be honest the stress is way too much. At the same time, I am excited to move in. I need to start planning my furniture. Don't know if it's a boon or bane, I left all my furniture in Sydney when I moved to Brissy. So I need to shop everything from scratch here as I rented out a fully furnished apartment.
