Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 19, 2017 3:35 pm Hey everyone, Just wanting to get some help regarding piering, when they are done should the tops be flat and smooth for the slab to sit on or what is the process? Our piers have completely dissapered with the rain and only 2 or 3 of them have metal reo bars coming out of the top and these have been flattened with the plumbing work is this going to be an issue or do they just bend it back to where it needs to be? Also one of the piers has been driven over by a truck and left it damaged to the top? I've attached below photos of what 2 of our piers look like, one of them sits below our pad height by roughly 200mm and the other has been driven over by a truck, our SS has said it needs to be inspected by an engineer before they do any pouring but when we went out there today you cannot even see the piers anymore as they have been covered up by mud/plumbing dirt. How much additional cost you paid for the slab piers? My block is classified as "H2" but the builder said the soil is a good classification so that the slab needs no piers. I'm questioning this as H2 classification means a very high ground movement from moisture change, but the builder might consider to save cost as my site cost is fixed. i would not be signing anything on the day read your contract about when builder submits final invoice generally, have to meet builder within 7 days of receiving final… 1 4683 How good is Simeon?!
