Browse Forums Building A New House Re: GJ Gardner - Week 17 - PCI & Handover 121Mar 13, 2018 6:32 pm Congrats! This is the real exciting bit. Re: GJ Gardner - Week 17 - PCI & Handover 122Mar 13, 2018 8:57 pm Thanks everybody! We are incredibly excited to get the keys on Friday. Went up this afternoon to check if our outside lights and PowerPoint were fixed and to our surprise they were! The cleaners accidentally left a door open so we got a look in our clean almost ready to move in home!! It's been completely cleaned which is great! Our bank got back to us today about our final payment and completed a inspection and reported back that it wasn't completed and it's at 97% so would hold the last 3% which is worrying. We knew it wasn't completed as the freestanding bath and tank is completed tomorrow and the turf / fencing are booked in for Thursday / friday so we couldn't help that. We are able to send a letter to tell them it's done and we are satisfied and for them to release funds which will be done tomorrow. Everything set for a Friday move in! Except my holidays don't start until Tuesday next week so will be a full on weekend. Got a few more photos with the stone bench top and cleaned. Looks fantastic with the clean! You will have a VERY fun weekend lol Re: GJ Gardner - Week 17 - PCI & Handover 124Mar 14, 2018 4:23 am Looks great, congratulations again, hope the move goes well and look forward to seeing you all settled in Re: GJ Gardner - Week 17 - PCI & Handover 126Mar 15, 2018 9:07 am Have had some issues with handover the last few days, the bank done its final inspection and wouldn't release finals funds because of things that were not completed. Turf, Bath, Tank, Cladding and cleaning. All of which have now been completed. So we had to draft up a letter and send to bank to allow them to release funds stating its completed and we are satisfied. This means payment might not make builders acc by friday. Which is a massive inconvenience to us as we have booked and organized people to help us move! The builder failed the council OC because the cladding wasn't installed yesterday. Cladding was then quickly installed and another inspection booked for today. Have spoke with the SS and they are still happy to give us the keys on Friday (hopefully) as long as the final payment is in process which it currently is. So fingers crossed!. Got a snap of our bath aswell which is wonderful! Just wanted to update everybody before I forget about it. Bank inspection failed us due to items not being completed but we had to write a letter to bank to say the items were complete to release final payment. Council failed builder on 2 occasions, for not having cladding on then the next day for not having the cladding painted.. LOL We still got OC completed the day we moved in so no dramas. Over all it has been a great experience and we would definitely build a new home again and look afford to in the future. A few things remain uncompleted but will be done soon a possible. - Touch up painting - Brick letterbox - Leveling of front right side of house - Fix of stacker doors not shutting correctly and fly screens for stacker doors. Now for the good stuff, some pictures for you to enjoy. Re: GJ Gardner - Week 17 - Completed 132Mar 20, 2018 5:14 pm Congratulations and well done - don’t think I’m game enough to do it again!!! Re: GJ Gardner - Week 17 - Completed 133Apr 02, 2018 3:16 pm Hi guys! Hope everybody is processing well with there build or even settled in already! We have been flat out organising things to be completed. We finally got a mailbox before Easter but still are waiting for touch up painting, side fencing and side yard leveling to be completed. We are glad we took keys but some of these things should have been completed weeks ago! Grass has been really patchy regardless of the water we pump in doesn't seem to be taking off in some areas. Have started some landscaping at the front have attached a photo!
