Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Crystal 16 by Dennis Family Homes 21Dec 22, 2017 9:38 am Another fan of the floors here! Nice one! Re: Crystal 16 by Dennis Family Homes 22Jan 17, 2018 5:28 pm Well what do you know, we are yet to move in haha kind of saw it coming but there's been a hold up with the basin stock thats held up a PCI date. We've even had a building surveyor come to conduct a certificate inspection (Lord knows why when it wasn't even finished) which obviously failed however gave us a good list of outstanding items (which was good to know in some ways). Currently all the items on the list have been taken care of and awaiting surveyor inspection tomorrow for certificate to be issued friday. PCI on friday, and looking o handover next Thursday. It's cutting it much too close than I'd like however not left with much of a choice with our rental finishing on the 29th! Busy times however trying not to lose the gratitude of even having a house for ourselves in the first place! Hi maddy, Ive gone with the terrain scheme for external and stanford scheme for internal. No upgrades, just extras like shower niche, mirrored robe doors, extra powerpoints, downlights etc. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Crystal 16 by Dennis Family Homes 25Jan 18, 2018 10:22 am Wow, best of luck. Interesting seeing your colour selection. Not the choices you made, but the options you had. We had to pick everything from individual samples and there were no options to look at pre-selected combinations. No biggie, but interesting that a company isn't the same everywhere for the same process. Re: Crystal 16 by Dennis Family Homes 26Jan 18, 2018 10:41 am rattleAU Wow, best of luck. Our house being small and modest it was part of the aspirations series which I believe has the colour boards to choose from as part of the pricing rather than the liberty of the owners getting to pick and choose every item. For instance if you're building the Davenport, I'm sure the scale and price of the build allows the builders to upspec all their options accordingly (lucky you)! The representative did say we had the option of choosing all the colours ourselves for an additional cost (I think $400) but we were happy enough with the two of the existing colour board options so just decided to save some $$. Mind you some of the other colour boards were horrible though.. haha.. Re: Crystal 16 by Dennis Family Homes 27Jan 18, 2018 12:03 pm Ah, of course! My wife did tell me that ages ago. Duh! Hey, I only slept 2 hours after work last night as I had to meet the electrician on site this morning... and that's the excuse I am sticking too. Re: Crystal 16 by Dennis Family Homes 28Jan 27, 2018 11:56 pm And we are in. Bit if a mad rush the last couple of days, and things here and there already that we need to report, however none the less this is HOME for the next so many years! Excited indeed. Please mind the messy house, we are still settling in, moving with two babies is like moving with one arm and one leg hah.. Re: Crystal 16 by Dennis Family Homes 32Jan 29, 2018 11:34 am Humphrey29 How was the remainder of the build? Looks amazing, thanks for sharing 😀 Hi Humphrey, there were no real dramas with our build considering it was a pretty standard layout, modest size with modest upgrades. Only thing that kept us hanging was this basin that they were out of stock for so long that the ss had to ask another builder who happened to have them in his stock. Since that needed to be done to obtain occupancy permit and then bank releasing funds which only then we can handover, we ended up cutting it way too close.. 4 days out from lease ending on our rental haha.. As I mentioned, there are already a couple of items such as a minor tile grout mishap, one roof tile slightly out of place, that we missed out on pci but ss has confirmed to get them fixed even after handover. Overall, would recommend and use dfh next time aswell.
