Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 31, 2017 5:27 pm Hi All, Just about to start our first home build, building on poles, split level on a sloping site and would like some advice on the below 2 ways of going about the 'Stump to Pad'. At the moment our builder is going with the picture where the post is only 500mm deep in concrete with a cut to measure non adjustable post as opposed to the 2nd pic with post 900mm deep with adjustable post. The builders reasoning for going with the 500mm deep pic is basically that it is easier so less labor and cheaper due to posts being non adjustable cut to size, we do trust our builder and we need to cut costs where we can. Is there any issues with going over one way or the other besides personal preference?
