Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Iluka in Bray Park (G.J Gardner) 21Dec 06, 2017 8:33 am Did a drive-by the block last night just to see what's happening with the block next door - still nothing on their side either. Though, the trees on the nature strip have been cleared! They were terrible gum looking things that I wanted to get rid of anyway. The types of trees that suck up all moisture from the ground and wont let grass grow. I'm hoping that they grind the stumps down, that would be grouse if they did that for me All progress pics are in the first post - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89917&p=1761154#p1761154 Re: Building the Iluka in Bray Park (G.J Gardner) 22Dec 06, 2017 10:41 am So I have decided to be very proactive. With the lack of communication from the Sales person regarding progress. I called head office, asked to speak with the drafting team - not allowed. Demanded an update on the drawings, she will email the Sales Manager and ask the drafting team on my behalf. Soooooo wish we had done this before signing off on size of house Re: Building the Iluka in Bray Park (G.J Gardner) 27Dec 06, 2017 10:02 pm Air con unit right beside your bedroom window may be very noisy Re: Building the Iluka in Bray Park (G.J Gardner) 28Dec 06, 2017 10:36 pm galleriamad Air con unit right beside your bedroom window may be very noisy That’s the first thing I noticed! It’s being moved to bed 2 wall where the gas bottles are. Then move the gas bottles somewhere. Cheers for checking out my thread. Once you see your furniture to scale you’ll know if your floor plan really works. I use an app on my iPhone magicplan. You use a picture of the plan and draw your rooms over the top setting the scale and size as you go and then you can add furniture in and scale it to the right size. You can also see it in a little 3D model. Really get to know your plan inside and out. I’ve had the plan as my desktop background at work for the past 5 weeks, so the image is burnt into my retinas like when you stare at the sun for too long... Re: Building the Iluka in Bray Park (G.J Gardner) 33Dec 07, 2017 7:52 am Unsure why they have pushed that wall into your ensuite in WIR , if this is dead space you could push it right back and have a beautiful huge double shower with high windows so no one can see in. The idea behind this is that there will be a set of drawers at each end of the WIR that sit inside that space - tallboy or built-in drawers. But the idea to create a bigger shower (which has a high window in it) is very good. I'll chat to Allison to see if that's something she would like. Thank you very much for the advice. Have you given a thought to flipping the plan as currently most of the garage enjoys northern light? Will you have to move the bins thru the garage? Re: Building the Iluka in Bray Park (G.J Gardner) 36Dec 07, 2017 8:49 am @ IamSAM - Cheers - Yes we did think about flipping the plan. However that would put all bedrooms on that side of the house. I will be spending a lot of time in Bed 4 as that will be setup as a Dialysis room. Allison does all sorts of silly shift work so Bed 1 is over there for that reason too. And yes, I'll have to take the bins through the garage or have them tucked to the side out the front. Thanks for the advice. Consider a skylight, solartube or one of those products. Re: Building the Iluka in Bray Park (G.J Gardner) 39Dec 07, 2017 11:13 am IamSAM BrentandAllison Here is a nicer copy of the plan.
