Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Ausbuild Finlay 36 - PCI scheduled for 25-Oct-2018. 81Oct 04, 2018 9:54 pm Hi Paul, managed to get around 200 bricks but someone came to take an entire pallete of bricks for another site, I don't understand how they order it manage stock to be honest, the brickie thru away prob around 200 full face brick bricks un touched during the build process not even left overs. I reckon it if one estate there is enough waistage to build an entire brick house.. Re: Ausbuild Finlay 36 - PCI scheduled for 25-Oct-2018. 82Oct 04, 2018 10:05 pm Hey Grant, lucky catch to grab the 200. We didn't have enough left over for the letterbox so the SS had to order more. To his credit the bricks were delivered the following day after he realised there were not enough. I must say when the SS finds a problem he does tend to fix it immediately. I can't get over the amount of materials that are simply thrown out in the skip. Would be great of they could link with say a Men's Shed and donate materials that are going to be chucked out. Would be a win/win as the skip would last longer before it is filled and the charity would get some free materials for their cause. Re: Ausbuild Finlay 36 - PCI scheduled for 25-Oct-2018. 83Oct 04, 2018 10:27 pm I agree, waste is mad.. Our SS isn't bad but doesn't follow up much, but gets most sorted, lives down the coast so arvo meetings not possible but hey, take what I can get.. Will be requesting another visit soon, I saw the didnt cut the kick board for the Vac pan as requested to the SS. Another point where I think they stretched thin, sad as the clients are left to chase it up, what about those that don't visit site often.. They don't have a clue what's going on being the smoke and mirrors Ausbuild Finlay 36 - PCI Done! 84Oct 25, 2018 5:05 pm Well, PCI is done and dusted. We engaged a building inspector but thankfully there were only a few minor things. Mainly paint associated which is good. I was too interested in looking at things that I forgot to take many photos. These will have to wait until handover which is next Thursday - 1 November! Yah. I did snap a shot of our staircase which looks great. This pic was taken from the front door. Cables in wall will be stair lights which our sparkie is installing after handover. Finally have access to house. Yay! Electrician mate was able to install downlights to all carpet areas - carpet goes down tomorrow. He will finish the remaining lights tomorrow and a few other things we have planned for him Tomorrow is carpets, shutters and remaining electrical. Plus new bed, lounge, gas bottles and some other items are due for delivery. I worked today but was able to move a fridge (for the moving beers!) and install dishwasher tonight. Plus got the NBN modem installed! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Ausbuild Finlay 36 - Handover completed! 89Nov 02, 2018 5:28 am pbwhi0 Hand over done. Finally have access to house. Re: Ausbuild Finlay 36 - Handover completed! 92Nov 03, 2018 12:47 pm Thanks all... but I am over moving. Such a big job with 5 adults in the house . Will probably finish on Sunday then comes the task of where to fit our all! Re: Ausbuild Finlay 36 - Handover completed! 96Nov 09, 2018 9:41 pm GrantFC We drove past sat morning and saw you were busy, we are also not looking forward to the work involved only the end product, when ever that may be.... Hey Grant, sorry I missed your post. Yes, been very busy. Had to vacate the rental and can't believe how much stuff we had to move. Seemed like it would never end. Still, with three boys aged 19 to 21 with cars, motorbikes, boats etc plus plenty of spare parts there was heaps to move. Starting to get house in order - still a lot to go. Pool finish commences next week. Hopefully we will also recover one side of the garage by Sunday. Need to fit out WIR so we can get clothes where they belong. Best of luck with a possible December handover. Would be a bonus!
