Hi tinkster, any updates with your build?

So with Prestart looming next week we finally made it to a tile shop to do our selections. Last build we had an interior designer to help us and it really helped in hindsight. The lady at the tile shop initially got my back right up but eventually she stopped irritating me and we got it done.

I got a little overwhelmed and am having the usual “omg what did we pick” panic but I HOPE it all works.

So, some pics.
My daughters bathroom- we’ve bought her a grey concrete sink and will have black taps. White stone bench, grey tile is floor (and is the same everywhere except out ensuite). She’ll have a whole wall of the feature and also in the niche. The white wall tile actually has a really subtle marble through it .

Kitchen- the scary one! Benchtop in Concrete Pezzato essastone (which I’m really hoping to find somewhere in a bigger sample). White overheads and ash lowers

You can head down to the Laminex shop on Scarborough Beach Road and check out bigger samples there if you like. We went and did that when choosing our stone and laminate

Just be careful not to fall in love with a stone only to find out it's the top tier category and you can't afford it haha was going to be like a 10k upgrade or something if we went with the colour we originally picked

Yeah we went all out in the Kitchen, but couldn't justify the price for that particular stone

Prestart costings back first thing Monday morning, 14 pages and over $44K!
But with some trimming here and there we were mostly happy. The upgrade on the stone was just on $3K which I (and hubby!) can live with, nothing else was really too shocking, changing out some things and caught a couple of expensive typos- a $501 credit had been entered as a $50 debit so glad I found that one!
Building license has been issued so just need the cash to get it rolling!
Just finalising the last few things, hoping to have all the documents to submit to finance before the end of this week. Just want it to start now!

Yeah that includes all the electrical, $5K on PowerPoints, $8K on cabling, security and multiroom audio, probably $4k in lights etc. there was lots of things they priced two options so we could pick one so it’s not really that scary but hubby was stunned. He’s forgotten obviously

I knew it was coming, I’d budgeted for $30-35 and that’s probably what it will be once we finalise everything.
