Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 10, 2017 12:57 am Hey, while it seems like just yesterday it was around six years ago we built our second house and homeone was so helpful during that time. Now, thanks to growing kids and changing school zones we are building again. Bought a block in Harrisdale and have finally found a house we loved, the lotus display in wandi. Few major modifications including an ensuite for the girl child, workshop on the garage for the man and few things here and there. Signed the PPA and now the fun begins. Have slightly changed the laundry since this plan was done. Hey! Signing contracts today!! Prestart booked for a couple of weeks (which I’m feeling very behind the 8 ball on) Hoping to get it all started ASAP in the new year. ![]() my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building again, Ben Trager homes WA 6Dec 10, 2017 11:47 am So with Prestart looming next week we finally made it to a tile shop to do our selections. Last build we had an interior designer to help us and it really helped in hindsight. The lady at the tile shop initially got my back right up but eventually she stopped irritating me and we got it done. I got a little overwhelmed and am having the usual “omg what did we pick” panic but I HOPE it all works. So, some pics. My daughters bathroom- we’ve bought her a grey concrete sink and will have black taps. White stone bench, grey tile is floor (and is the same everywhere except out ensuite). She’ll have a whole wall of the feature and also in the niche. The white wall tile actually has a really subtle marble through it . Especially the feature for your daughter's bathroom ![]() And the grey concrete sink sounds divine! The only reason I didn't choose a tile like that is because of all the grout and cleaning, and I'm lazy. Hope BT are reasonable about rectified tile variations... ours were ouch! What flooring are you getting in the rest of the house? ![]() Re: Building again, Ben Trager homes WA 8Dec 10, 2017 12:16 pm Flooring will likely be vinyl planks, something grey toned. She fell in love with the feature and they are gorgeous. But with some trimming here and there we were mostly happy. The upgrade on the stone was just on $3K which I (and hubby!) can live with, nothing else was really too shocking, changing out some things and caught a couple of expensive typos- a $501 credit had been entered as a $50 debit so glad I found that one! Building license has been issued so just need the cash to get it rolling! Just finalising the last few things, hoping to have all the documents to submit to finance before the end of this week. Just want it to start now! my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Building again, Ben Trager homes WA 17Jan 16, 2018 9:24 am 44k! Dam, that's a decent Prestart haha did you do stuff through Intelligent Home? That's usually quite expensive!
