Building A New House
Oct 06, 2017 11:19 pm
After months of consulting with several builders we have decided to build our home with Langdon Builders. I was unable to find any reviews on this site in relation to Langdon builders, so I thought I'd share my journey for those that may be interested in building with them. Our first contact has been with Nick from the display home. Nick showed amazing patience during our floor plan design process. We made many alterations to the Aspire 30 design to suit our families needs.

Good luck TP.
My mother has just moved into her build in the Daylesford region built by Langdons. Overall the quality has been excellent, with very few defects at the 3 month maintenance check.
The only thing that wasn't quite right was the exterior painter, and he is no longer subbing for Langdons.
Do be very very careful about your paperwork though, as in most cases my mum's paperwork management was reasonably poor. Make sure if you want a specific bench height that you have that in your contract, as mum's is very high.
I am very impressed about the quality of her house though for what she paid.

Cool. We looked at Landgon Builders but decided to go with Classic Co Homes from Balllarat. Just waiting on engineering plans and then go to contract and hopefully get all the ticks.

It has been months since we started this journey, we have encountered many delays in the plan process. The day of our colour consult was a debarkle. We travelled 2.5 hours for the consult and found out that they had doubled booked us with another couple. Our consult was rushed and many things were not clarified or finalised. As they were rushing us we were told to pick any colour and get back to them with our final tile and Laminex choices. Our electrical plans were presented on the original house design, we had made many changes to design so this was not addressed on the day ( another thing they didn’t have time to do). I had many things already chosen prior to the consult which saved time. Trying to rectify this has proven very difficult via email. We have been given a close to final costing and specs estimate minus the tiles which still need to be priced. I am hoping this process gets smoother from here

I was informed today that Langdons won’t do glitter grout as their supplier does not stock it and their tradesmen have never used it.
I really wanted it for my ensuite. Feeling unsure what tile to use now
