I would tend to avoid going any less than 3.6m x 3.6m - Provide zones to assist with heating and cooling - Play around with drawing furniture on the plan so you can get an idea as to how you can furnish your house Of course there are many other items to address, however I believe these are good starting points. I'll assume that you've checked all your local government regulations and requirements (easements, setbacks, overshadowing, solar fence, etc.). What attributes does the site have - slope? Views? The block has a slight slope but I'm yet to hear how to site level test went.
