Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 30, 2017 9:22 pm Hi Everyone, I have seen a few posts scattered around now different topics about Coast Central at Wyee so thought I would make a post so we can all start talking about it in one place! (Apologies if this has already been done but could not find one!) We are hopefully getting close to Stage 1 release but have heard so many various stories on the delay from Gas/Sewer delays, Council Delays to people not getting paid I am not sure what is really happening! Interested to meet everyone seen as we are going to hopefully be neighbours soon! Also keen to hear who everyone is building with and what stage you are in etc. Also hear any updates everyone receives on the progress. I will start it off, I have purchased in stage 3 and have not decided on a builder yet. We have got plans fairly close to what we want so will most likely go a custom build with a smaller builder using our plans. Matt Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 2Oct 01, 2017 8:01 pm Hi Matt, We have heard similar stories too! We were told that owes millions to a construction company and he has run out of money and is now currently trying to refinance to get stage 1 complete but it's not looking like that will happen in the next six months if at all. We got this information from a real estate property manager. The const central website has now been taken down which is worrying because we have purchased a block in stage 1. We are going to give them a call on Tuesday to find out exactly what is going on because we only spoke to Rod a week ago and he didn't mention anything about refinancing he just advised there was a delay due to the sewer and was hoping stage 1 will be registered by the end of the year. Will keep you posted with what he says. Has anyone else spoken to the developer recently?? Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 3Oct 02, 2017 6:22 pm Hi, I'm meant to be in stage 1 of the development and soo far have waited basically 2 years. Rod said end of Oct for practical completion and end of Nov for registration... ? That was 2 weeks ago... But you are right, the website is gone... What is the likely result if it all goes busy? Surely someone will pick up where they left off? Stage 1 is almost complete... Ahh! Soo annoying.. Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 4Oct 02, 2017 7:56 pm Hi All, I don't think that they are going to go bankrupt or anything, they have been around for quite some time and it is not the only property they are developing. I know a few people have emailed or said they are going to call him tomorrow so we will just have to wait and see what he says. It does not take long for rumours in a small town to spread! Hopefully it is just delays with council or something and the work kicks back off soon and we can all start building early next year! If anyone calls or emails him please write back with what he says, hopefully it may reduce the amount of calls he gets too. Matt Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 5Oct 03, 2017 10:12 am Hi All, My partner just spoke with Rod he confirmed they are having issues with the sewer system, the lines will now need to be run to Morisset. Work will commence again next week and stage 1 should be registered by the end of this year. He said he is going to have his solicitor send out an email with an update. Any one else spoken to Rod? Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 6Oct 03, 2017 4:23 pm Response directly from development solicitor: "My clients are currently refinancing and it is taking a little longer than expected. We will keep you informed." I've been told it will all still be going ahead, which is obvious based on the amount of work already completed. Seems like a waiting game. Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 7Oct 29, 2017 3:28 pm Hi Everyone. Me and my partner are building in stage 3 also. We are building the Coral Home Noosa 25. I have also spoken to rod and he said that we will all get a letter shortly with new dates to when it will be settled. It is frustrating although there isn't much to do but wait. We did drive past the land today and all of the machinery seemed to be gone from the land, not sure what this means. Look Forward to seeing all of your plans, i just hope the development goes ahead sooner rather than later. Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 8Feb 07, 2018 2:02 pm Hey Everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knows when work is due to recommence on the development (coast central), I've driven past a few times on different days during the past few weeks and have not seen a single workman in sight. Any insight would be greatly appreciated 😊 Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 9Mar 05, 2018 9:49 am Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum and am thrilled to have others in the same boat to talk to. We are in stage 3 on Lawrence Ave and hoping to build the Kirkby246 with Hotondo (if you get a chance go to the Kirkby267 on display at Thornton - kitchen is AMAZING!). Any news on the development? I am refusing to sign the new agreement until work starts again on the estate: its been months now. As a first home buyer I am getting very anxious about continuing to pay rent while nothing happens and the existing home market continues to increase...all while my ovaries shrivel up and die. When I last spoke with Rod (early Dec) he said there's a pumping station to be built which will take 5-6months before stages 2 and 3 can be registered and was hoping for August. My partner made a dummy call to the real estate agent selling the land and asked about registration and was told machinery would be back on site two weeks ago...still nothing! Are they out of money? How much longer will we have to wait? I just want to build my house. Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 10Mar 06, 2018 7:15 am Hey, I'm glad someone finally started talking about this development again. I spoke to Rod in December as well, but with regards to stage 1. I have heard similar things to do with pumping station for stage 2 and 3, which would be a set back. Our new sunset clause is June 30. All indications from Rod and Wyee Realestate is that this date will be met. Rod no longer takes calls...from me? Or everyone? Either way, we were promised trucks back as well, which hasn't happened. ..the only good news!! If you visit Lake Mac website and search for developments, you can see that the DA for stages 5&6 have been approved for Saltro developments (Jan 2018). Which I think means they have got the finance, and have new approvals. They may be just waiting until they are ready to start work on all current stages before getting machines back? Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 11Mar 24, 2018 5:41 pm Howdy neighbours, Me and my wife Gina are also on Lawrence st. We where in the back and forth with dates for the past year or so, to think, we thought registration would be finished in August last year. We keep driving past looking for the big mound of dirt to be moved around off our block!! But nothing, have stopped driving g past due to disappointment. Has anyone else heard anything re the pumping station? Apparently that's what has to be built. We are building with Fowler and have already jumped in headfirst with cash!! Hoping we see some earthworks soon! Re: Coast Central - Wyee - NSW Central Coast 12Apr 03, 2018 12:56 pm TomGina Howdy neighbours, Me and my wife Gina are also on Lawrence st.
