I do highly recommend you have the footings and slab inspected by your own engineer several days before the concrete pour here's why 1. Chances are the builder will get someone to inspect the reinforcement the morning of the pour If there is something wrong it doesn't leave any time to rectify the errors 2. If the concrete truck has to be turned away or delayed someone could be up for Thousand$ in costs 3.The concrete footings/slab involves several components,ie service prelays, excavations, formwork, reinforcement, concrete It's all too easy for a tradie/labourer to miss something. Only a brave engineer has the authority to stop the pour Your job is to supplement the engineers inspection with weekly site visits , photos etc... 2 sets of eyes are better than one...get my gist Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs The fastest thing a builder will do is bank your cheque, those systems work perfectly with lightning speed, everything else is slow burn.
