Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 27, 2017 2:05 pm Hi guys, I am looking at signing a contract with MPD very soon, everything seems to be awesome. The dudes from their nominated finance department (external) are awesome, and so is Noah. Just wondering if anybody has built with MPD in adelaide before? Positive or bad experiences? I cant seem to find much information and reviews on them apart from the fact I know the area I want to build in very well. Its actually my old primary school. Any information promptly would be awesome. Thanks!! Re: Metro Property Developments - Adelaide 2Jul 12, 2018 7:08 am We bought a home and land package from a staff member of metro homes. We found him to be professional and helpful and that is where it stopped. Apparently once the house changes hands from the builder to the new owners Metro want nothing to do with you!! The maintenance manager makes it very clear that they don’t have to repair anything (after a lot of follow up they repair SOME of the issues) apparently baths don’t need sealed tiles all the way around. From there the “office manager” was rude beyond belief yet never apologetic. The maintenance guy never got back to us even though we had a water leak. So you know what we ended up with a beautiful home but feel resentful due to poor after sales care, unprofessional staff and being treated like we were unreasonable for wanting a house that doesn’t leak when it rains. I WOULD NOT BUILD WITH THEM. Re: Metro Property Developments - Adelaide 3Jul 12, 2018 12:13 pm My house is now almost finished with them, and yes communication has dropped to a degree most of the issues should be sorted before practical completion. If you find things that are wrong, with hold the last progress payment till it’s fixed. Yes - that’s the lesson we had to learn as we bought it as a completed home and land package - not direct with the builder. Live and learn I guess. I agree with you - don’t pay until you’re 100% happy. Keen to hear from people in the area who have got KDRB done on whom they got the build from? Looking for recommendations. Thanks 0 21115 You might be able to apply to divert the sewer at your expense. In NSW you would contact a Water services co-ordinator and they would give you advice as to whether or not… 1 16148 Ask for some kickplate to be added and also for tradies to be requested to use lanyards on tools on that side of the building. Be respectful and have the discussion… 1 1697 |
