I like the three vertical windows, I would have them on top as well. Dont like the timber slats sorry. There is something unbalanced about the window above the garage...anyone help with that one? You are definetly the MVH queen Paula Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 22Aug 26, 2008 9:25 pm Yes Paula, three verticals above the ones already there and two long thin horizontals above the garage, one on top of each other and lose the wood.
Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 24Aug 26, 2008 9:29 pm Paula joles two long thin horizontals above the garage, one on top of each other and lose the wood. Jo That's it!! well done. I said it on page one. I'm beginning to think no-one reads my posts. Don't blame you, I wouldn't if I wasn't me. Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 27Aug 26, 2008 9:53 pm I love this one, (except for the timber screen but that might just be the pic). I love the three vertical windows at the front, and the way the top window lines up with them.
Have you thought of adding a 2 brick stepped render moulding to the top of the garage? Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 28Aug 26, 2008 11:50 pm Hi,
No I don't think we'll be having timber blinds, probably just white plain holland ones. I'm a simple gal Nobody seems to like the external timber louvre/blind idea, I got rather excited about it!! Was it just my ******* pic, or just not a good idea? Something like this? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Anyway, it's still in for now until you tell me that you still hate it.. I think we're getting closer with these, what do you think. Jo I did see yours, I was just still playing! Amilelka yes I think we will have a render moulding to the top of the garage, and one on below the other windows too. Is that what you mean? Like a little ledge? Please help me! 29Aug 26, 2008 11:56 pm The middle one looks brilliant if I do say so myself.
I was only playing about credit for ideas Rachelle. My ideas are usually so crap I get really excited when I have a good one! I've had two this week. I'm not a wood fan so I wouldn't take my opinion on that too seriously. But the wood looks good in the middle one. Which one do you prefer? Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 30Aug 27, 2008 12:30 am I don't know Jo, I like them all, I think! I even don't mind the last one which is a decent cheap option if all the awning windows that will be required for the six 60cm come in ridiculously expensive.
I think I've been looking for too long, so it's hard to say which I prefer, but I'm pretty sure I'd be happy with any of these if they were offered to me as options, iykwim, just hard after looking at it for too long!! Thanks for you help! Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 32Aug 27, 2008 9:09 am I'm with Paula, I think thats the best one also and the pic you posted that you got the timber idea from does look good.
Try not to comprimise to much on the facade of your house or every time you drive in and look at it, you will kick yourself. What colour have you used for the render? I think it felt a bit like you have this strip of timber running through the middle of the house, thats why I enquired about the garage door and your pic you posted has a paint finish door. Is there anyway you can add another timber look somewhere so you eye bounces around a bit more? Maybe some timber planter boxes running the down the side of your driveway or at the pillar of your garage. But really a good looking house so far......... Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 33Aug 27, 2008 9:15 am I like the same as Paula the best. What room does the two horizontal windows belong to?
Love how you've taken the sidelight out and made the door wider. Looks really nice. Happy at Home Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 34Aug 27, 2008 9:19 am I like that one too - and yes the timber slats look heaps better in the real life pic - keep them in
I love what you have done with the windows and good job on getting rid of the side lights - we did this too and got money back for it!! My karma ran over your dogma Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 35Aug 27, 2008 9:43 am Thanks guys!
gh.. I see what you mean about the timber through the middle. We will have five metres of fencing to the side, do you think that helps? I'm actually worried about the stark white competing with the timber but I think in the flesh that the white won't be so stark around the windows. The render is just paperbark at this stage. I haven't seen it in person, so it might not end up exactly this colour, Michelle has given me a few very similar colours that will work with the brick so I'll paint up some sheets later and decide, but I like that it is kind of similar to the brick. Toni those windows belong to the upstairs rumpus, as does the middle one! But the middle window will be kind of behind the lounge as the lounge faces the outer wall of the house and there needs to be a gap behind it as the door to the main bedroom is there. I'll paste some VERY rough plans... They're charging us to add that door Bel, no credit for removing the sidelight, but it's one of those 1200mm doors, I absolutely love it! Like you I didn't like the idea of anyone being able to see right into the house through the sidelight. BTW the display home has a white garage so I'm hoping that means I can have it. Please help me! 36Aug 27, 2008 10:12 am It looks great Rachelle -thats a shame about the credit for the sidelights but I can understand why having the larger door - it is a gorgeous door too!!
I saw some white garages on displays and I asked - and it was Surfmist - so your right it is a white colour! I think it will look great My karma ran over your dogma Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 38Aug 27, 2008 10:17 am Definately better with the fencing, you don't focus so much on the run through the middle. The white I think keeps it all looking crisp and fresh, it feels nice and bright.
I love those 1200 doors, does that mean you will have a nice big open entry to match?.......... I think they always make a house very inviting when you can still breath when you walk in. Very nice. I thought the colour of your render was paperbark, whenever I am enquiring about a colour at the moment it tends to be paperbark. I must like this colour alot. It keeps grabbing my attention. Its all looking very nice.................... Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 39Aug 27, 2008 10:55 am Woo hoo!! I love Paperbark but no-one seems to use it. We will have Paperbark fascia and garage doors. I like it because ti is not creamy or yellow but still gives a lovely base! And absolutely anything goes with it!
Anything Rachelle puts in the garden will look fantastic against the Paperbark render. I love Paperbark! Jo (way too excited about Paperbark! ) I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Facade Frustrations! Please help me! 40Aug 27, 2008 10:57 am I agree the paperbark is a nice colour, I also think Dune would go lovely with your bricks, the timber and the white - It better because that is what I am using!! Along with jasper of course My karma ran over your dogma Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3273 Dear Members I have to decide the Facade column size. My custom builder standard is 350mm with rendering, but i asked for 470mm plus stone or tiles and yet to get… 0 7497 traditional gable roof facade - Have you did the dark and light gray color combination in facade with gray stone in facade… 0 4214 |
