Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 301Mar 04, 2018 7:35 pm Yeh was very happy with Aquatime Pools and was also keen on Barrier Reef pools (both fibreglass). Barrier Reef are a bit more expensive than Aquatime but they price match and also fix price their excavations for rock removal etc. I preferred the designs of Aquatime Pools though. I had other companies quote including Narellan and Leisure Pools and all were much more expensive. Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 303Mar 04, 2018 7:46 pm Pool looks great 1st Time Builders! Thanks for all the info Tribe We've certainly got a lot of research to do before we decide. We were actually a little shocked by the price difference between the concrete pool from Cozy and the fibreglass from Leisure. We were expecting the concrete to be more expensive however it was about 10k cheaper! Our soil test won't be done until later in the month when the developer gives us the go ahead however it seems we'll be building on shale. Not ideal, but hopefully not too much more expensive! Shale is fine as far as the excavations for pool are concerned. It’s only rock if they need a rock breaker that gets expensive. Shale is easy enough for them to get out with the standard excavator. Yes I think we could have got a concrete a bit cheaper but since we were living here already and it was hot and the fibreglass took 1 1/2 days to install it was worth the extra money haha Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 307Mar 05, 2018 9:48 pm ruraldoc Woohoo! Tribe ready to roll on to their next home!! Congrats on the signing. Every step counts!! It sure does Rural, we lodged our shed contract and insurance documents to the bank today and will be lodging the pool ones tomorrow. Everything has been sent off to the certifier for the shed and pool too . Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 308Mar 05, 2018 9:58 pm We had a very exciting day today and picked up our new Ford Everest. Mr T is tickled pink, we can now tow a huge load which is perfect for when we start landscaping and bringing home sleepers, plants and mulch. I can even bring a full load of pavers back with me (weird I know but now we live in the country delivery costs a bomb) I’ve got the learn how to back our trailer but it will be fine There is heaps of room for all the tribe which has to be the best part Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 309Mar 05, 2018 10:04 pm how cute is his smile... yay for new cars! so exciting... it's a beast! And I totally understand the need to have done straight away. If I wasn’t building it would be fibreglass for sure so that it could be used 😂 Nice car Tribe! Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 314Mar 07, 2018 2:45 pm Agent_009 We are considering Bold for our build (acreage as well), so I'll be definitely following this one. We are also in QLD. Hey Agent, Nice to hear of another possible Bold build, which design are you considering? We are also in QLD. Hey Agent, Nice to hear of another possible Bold build, which design are you considering? We are looking at Coulton 379. However, also looking at Oracle Platinum and considering custom home from G&P Builders or Valeco Homes. Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 316Mar 07, 2018 3:39 pm I can’t say I looked into Bolds acreage homes much as our block has too much fall for a wide home and we would end up with a monster house pad. I did just look up the Coulton and the floor plan is lovely. I know a few that have built with Oracle in cedar grove and Jimboomba and they had rather long builds. It would be worth while asking Gr8ly and Staceyrussel about Valeco, I tried to get a quote out of them and they never got back to me. I would defiantly build with G&P, I have spoken to Corey also and he was awesome. Are you in the Scenic Rim area too? Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 317Mar 07, 2018 4:05 pm Thanks Tribe. We are looking to build in the Aspect Estate in Karalee: http://www.aspectacreage.com.au/ Our block will have a fall from back to front. So for us, an acreage home would suit better as a deeper style home would cover too much fall. I have read good and bad things regarding Oracle, much like all project builders. We love the Oracle plan though...it's the Stirling 329. We haven't performed too much research on G&P and Valeco yet, but we will definitely look into both of these. It’s great to see they are making land in that Estate again, we looked at buying land from QM on waterfront drive but brought land and built on the coast for the first one. Ok so your fall is opposite to ours, I kind of wish we could use our width but never mind. Have they started making the land? Or is it registered? Yes agree project builders can be hit and miss, I would build with Clarendon in a heart beat but they don’t come to my area. I also love McCarthy Homes and Porter Davis but again none of them come down here. We had a great build with Metricon first time around, super fast, excellent communication and admin phase, quality was a bit average though. The stirling is on display at Jimboomba have you seen it? Actually Hotondo have a very good acreage design its a Stockton 380. The lady who owns the business is so lovely. It’s so worth while to research and ask a million questions. Gives you a better understanding of the company. As much as it erks me Coral are the best value, there elegance inclusions are brilliant. Have you looked at the Cloncurry? Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 319Mar 07, 2018 7:12 pm We also looked at Waterfront Drive but weren't ready to build back then At Aspect, Stage 1 is nearly sold and Stage 2 just went on sale. None of them are registered yet. We ruled out Clarendon pretty quickly. We want a house at least 300m2 (single storey) and the only design they have that meets that criteria is the Maitland 40. We saw the Stirling at Jimboomba many years ago! We need to go look at it again! I have never heard of Hotondo but the Stockton 380 looks like a very nice plan. Do you know how Hotondo are for prices? I agree Coral is up there in regards to value...I just find a lot of their acreage plans a bit "meh", including the Cloncurry. This is what we really want to build but it would be out of our budget: http://www.gjgardner.com.au/ipswich-hom ... 13573.aspx Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 320Mar 08, 2018 8:45 pm Agent_009 We also looked at Waterfront Drive but weren't ready to build back then At Aspect, Stage 1 is nearly sold and Stage 2 just went on sale. Have they started the civil works for stage 2 yet? Agree with the Clarendon mainland it’s just a bit odd, I fancy there double the Crestmead 44, a few tweaks and it would be awesome. It would be worth another trip to have a look at the stirling, Metricon have the Denver on display but the pricing for them is stupidity. This is a great plan https://www.mccarthyhomes.com.au/our-ho ... lview.html I was really impressed with McCarthys but they don’t come down here 🤨 hotondo are franchise like GJ Gardner but the lady is really helpful. From memory they are around $1,200 a m2. https://www.brightonhomes.net.au/home-d ... perance-30 is beautiful, it does come in a larger version than the 30 and it’s on display at Rochedale, One of my favs. Indigo Homes have a few really good acreage designs. G&P would defiantly be worth speaking too also. Agree the GJ plan is a lovely home, I would not build with them at all though. With a bit of work on the coral acreage homes they could be awesome, I’m not sure if the admin phase has improved but it used to be a battle. Bold are very accommodating with there floor plans and really flexible too, James at Ripley is so helpful. 1 4581 Hi all.
