Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the T 101Oct 16, 2017 6:26 am I was just coming to ask you about nurseries Tribe. I googled Tambo- it’s in Vic? Which one do you prefer in the Gold Coast/bris region please? I’m going to get Mum and Dad to go check out prices and buy some things for me Re: Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the T 102Oct 17, 2017 12:13 pm ruraldoc Ditto.. all banks seem to be the same... especially when you are on a deadline! We were waiting on finance approval to settle on our land. Delay after delay from the banks and the sellers "nearly" pulled the contract because we kept on asking for more time with finance! Our mortgage broker was financing through Westpac as well.... hmm coincidence!? We are thinking of changing lenders as soon as our house is built to get a better rate. Only went with RAMS because they packaged the whole loan as a new house build - which meant less monetary headache at the time. Westpac are very strict and conservative, we lost something like $40k in borrowing capacity over night a while back when they realigned the new cost of living calculators. Just make sure you don't have a fixed interest period on your mortgage if you wish to change Rural as you could possibly have to pay a break fee. Re: Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the T 105Oct 17, 2017 12:25 pm Exactly what I was thinking; why pay a fee to tell me what I know. No we don’t have a box or anything. I’ve been told to expect $1400 so I hope it’s closer to that than $2k . We are building with G&P Builders. We were trying to build with Steve Parcell but due to the way our loan is structured because I’m on maternity leave we needed a contract quicker (and a bit cheaper) than they could do. So far we’ve been very impressed with G&P. Building our first custom dream home. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t
Thanks for the link to your thread I'll come and check it out I hope it's $1400, even that I think is a bit rich it's there damn infrastructure on council land and we need to pay for it . I'm going to pay mine tomorrow and I'm not happy about it. Oh nice G&P build beautiful homes, I followed one on here she built up near Karalee from memory. Steve Parcell is down near me actually, he has a job starting on the opposite hill to me shortly. I'm crossing my fingers for you with the water meter. Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the Tribe 106Oct 17, 2017 12:33 pm Really with all that hard work already done for your bank all they had to do was say yes Banks in general are hard bloody work. And yep they are in the business of giving money so you would think it would have to be like pulling teeth! You are crazy awesome! You must have a lot of late nights. Good parenting I bet the kiddies love that you get to help out. Can't wait to see pictures of your next cushion creations. We called out to the clearing sale at our new place today, chatted to the old owners. Turns out I have two different kinds of apple trees, plums, cherries and apricots looks like the veggie patch is well on the way. Lemon tree is probably the first I will plant. Bring on 9 days
Finally got some movement with the bank . Good parenting hahahhaha uhm no, the little kids just play around me while I sew, they draw, do play dough or count (listening to counting while sewing hems can lead me to wanting to pull my hair out ) I'll start back on the cushions once I've finished the school costumes. That's awesome news you got all those beautiful fruit tree already, OMG you will have cherries and apricot for Christmas ohhh im jealous that's awesome! Are you all packed? Re: Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the T 107Oct 17, 2017 12:38 pm fleabee86 Hey Tribe! Holy moly wasn’t your water connection added into the house?? That’s insane! Mind you we have just received an electricity bill for $700+ because we have had to pay for a new connection for our Solar hot water NOT HAPPY JAN!!! Omg love the plants I’ve heard a lot of good things about that place in Tambo! I better go and inspect! Hey Flea, Nope no connections added I didn't even think to open the box I jut assumed the meter would be there. Grrrrrr. Holy catfish $700 with the connection is a bit rough, seems like such a waste but I hope the solar saves you in the long run. It's the green and gold nursery in tambo I found it ok but it helps if you know your plants and if they can tolerate sun or not or need canopy. The Jimboomba Market that's on this Saturday is supposed to be a cracker for plants. I went to the Beaudesert market the week before (I spent 90% of my time trying to pry my eldest of the donut van but all good ) Re: Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the T 108Oct 17, 2017 12:51 pm cat_dunc I was talking to Mum and realised Tambo is probably short for Mount Tamborine.. FYI there’s a Tambo in Victoria too Hey Cat, It's a little weird, Tamborine Mountain is up the hill but Tamborine is in the valley behind the mountain, Guanaba and Maudsland are at the front of the Mountain (Google maps it and put me out of my misery please ) I'm useless at trying to explain things some times. I've been to lots and lots of nurseries and the best I've found is Toni down at Berrigans Nursery, they are on Berrigans Road at Mudgeeraba. Her prices where the best on palms and a vast majority of everything else. She has a massive variety and can order anything else you need too. I'm actually about to place a order for a heap seeds and plan on striking them myself. For example 30 Cordyline seeds are $3.30 one 30cm high plant can be $10 each. Have you got time to propagate or do you want a instant garden? Re: Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the T 110Oct 17, 2017 6:13 pm 😂😂😂😂 this is gold, I didn't realise it was altered till Mrs Smart A@#e 😂😂😂 I thought that's the coolest street name my daughter would love to live there. Packing is still ongoing. Sucks doing it with the kids. Hubby is away now until after the move. Lucky him. I've spent all day taking loads to the new place as they gave us early Access to the shed as the other block settles on Friday. Which has been handy as we had a container and other sundries out there. Not to mention about a hundred star pickets. My arms are sore now! Anyway It is a real yes?? I'm super excited for you guys, congrats and bring on the build xo Re: Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the T 112Oct 17, 2017 6:52 pm Tribe7 fleabee86 Hey Tribe! I wish they had of added it into the cost of the house for you guys!! That’s just bull I have been to the Jimboomba markets but as you already know plants aren’t my thing wish I could win the lotto and just pay someone to do it all for me!! I could just tell them what I was thinking and BAM it’s done You’ll never believe it but I lived in Beauy for 5 years and never once went to the markets there but I totally get the donut thing Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I had this monster on Friday night at eat street think I’m still recovering Re: Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the T 113Oct 17, 2017 9:47 pm hahaha love it - whooohooo congrats the loan is approved! Party time! ::cheerleader:: Cordy seeds!? I hadnt even contemplated seeds for them. Pleeease I'd love the link to your seed site of choice if you could share it. I looked at buying some on the weekend. 60 FREAKING DOLLARS for a knee high cordyline at one place! Lee Rowans and Bunnings were cheaper, but still not much less than $30. I can propagate and grow.. though I'm a tincy bit impatient I need about 60 murraya plants. I bought 8 okay sized ones for one section I'm too impatient for.. and the rest will be cuttings i'll try grow myself. My hedge might be grown maybe by the time the kids move out I signed up for Alpine Dural wholesale nursery but I haven't heard back. I really need to follow it up. I'm not sure if they sussed out my ABN which you need to sign up there isn't all that active Re: Bold Living + Us + South East Queensland = Housing the T 116Oct 29, 2017 2:54 pm Tribe how’s it going???
