Bahhahahshhs I love visiting the display houses I almost turned it into a hobby
You mean dressing rooms like these?
StyleMaster kill it with the ensuites and WIRs.
You know how all the display houses smell amazing?? I found the Smith and Co candles and reed sticks at Myer and Glasshouse Mountains I got online

Yes! That WIR! and I looooved it’s main room with the like 10m high ceiling (slight exaggeration)
That curved wall with the herringbone tile must have cost $$$$$$
I think I ran my hand over every centimeter of curved tiling and it was perfect .
The pendant lights in that room are interesting, I don't know if I love them or not but the ceiling is amazing

I love the way their houses smell!
So good hey, TK Maxx also have an amazing candle defuser range. They have a black cigar candle (ok it sounds revolting but holy hell it smells amazing, like smoky and cosy) I'm going to TK Maxx tomorrow I hope they still have it

Having a super down day.
The builder supplied and started laying the correct tile, bur it turns out the tile we selected (belga grey 600x300) doesn’t have consistent tile sizes, with variations of up to 5mm length ways and 3 mm widthways.
The tiler said basically every tile is different and he refuses to lay them since he wouldn’t lay them for himself.
The Beaumont rep came to look, confirmed the sizes are inconsistent but that they cannot guarantee the next lot would be any better so they are taking the tile back and we have to rechoose another.
Unfortunately for us, there are only 2 other tiles we like but Both are 3 times the cost!
Hopefully Beaumont can come to the party and give us a deal. An extra 10k is not something we really can afford to save for easily considering handover will be in November and that cash was our fencing and turf funds.
Looking like a 2ish week delay 😭
Awww man, that sucks!! I suppose you were bound to hit a hiccup soon, with how great the build has been going. Nothing is ever perfect, right?
What are the other 2 tiles that you like?
I actually think I remember liking Belga too (charcoal), but someone at Beaumont had told me that Valeco don't use those tiles (unless I'm thinking of a different tile). I wonder if that's why.
What price range was Belga in? Was in considered Standard or Premium or completely custom price?
Our Exile Charcoal choice is in the Premium range, and you might like Exile Ash? Maybe even Evolution Grey?

Yea, we had been going so well, something was bound to go wrong. Also, the delay shouldn’t stop us from being in before Xmas, so that’s a positive!
Belga wasn’t in their standard range so we paid an extra 2kish for it. the tile was $38 according to the beaumont sticker, And was red colour I think. Dunno which range that falls in though. Doesn’t help that this size was a new one, and doesn’t yet have the consistency in production apparently.
We really loved the concrete fuse ($109) but turns out that won’t have stock for delivery u til January so it’s out.
Looks like we will go with the Icon Dove ($99). I’m really happy with the look of it. We probably would have selected it at the start of it wasnt so exxy.
The good thing is that it comes in the 900x450 that we originally wanted so kind of happy lol
I did look quite seriously at the exile, evolution and cretement but we want a rectangle tile that we can use outside too or that has the same size but in a textured versions becuase we are going to tile all the outdoor slabs to match and they didn’t have those sorts of options for what we needed.
Oh, great to hear you are still on track to be in before Christmas!
Ah I see.. Icon Dove looks lovely! Awesome that you're getting an upgrade, but a shame that it's not really within budget - I hope Beaumont are able to make it a little easier on the pocket for you.

I have to admit I'm really impressed with your tiler, what a considerate man to think beyond just getting the job done. It might cost you more in the long run due to more expensive tiles but the tiling will be sensational. I would rather a delay and spend a little more than have a rotten tiling job.
Have you visited beaumonts to re select yet?
I hope everything gets sorted quickly and you can keep moving forward

You have had a great build and will continue to, considering how kind your tiler is and your SS you are in good hands. There aren't many that will go out of there way for the client so it's great to hear they are doing the right thing by you.
I had a couple of butt head moments with my site super at the start and when he realized I wasn't going to be a push over he played ball.
I hope the quote comes back all ok and you can keep trucking on.
