Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 11, 2017 7:33 am Hi everyone looking at fairhaven homes, we will be doing site works ourselves but the sakes consultant has still estimated $5k for temporary fencing and porta Loos. No other builder has spoken of these charges? Re: Fairhaven homes 2Sep 28, 2017 8:50 pm Hi Lyndal, Firstly let me say im not a builder at all and have no history in the building industry. However i believe the cost are to secure the site and give the builders somewhere to "go" for the length of the building process. Our house is currently being built by fairhaven and they are required by law to have the site fenced off as a matter of safety. I would be asking the other builders if they require you to supply the fencing and toilet or if they are factored into the build cost elsewhere.
