The kids are having so much fun on the dirt you don't even need grass!!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89450&start=20 Re: Building the Hampton with Allworth Homes 222Feb 17, 2018 12:24 pm 17/02/2018- in the last 24 hours I laid 180sq metres of turf by myself, the plan was to make a start yesterday afternoon and hubby and I finish it this morning together. Hubby got home last night and was impressed with my work so he said I should finish it while he builds the garden shed. So by Saturday lunch time we have finished our turf and garden shed and feeling a real sense of achievement. we will eventually be painting the shed woodland grey to match the fence as we couldn't get one in woodland grey. Little tip for you if you haven’t already done it, fill the turf joints with left over underlay if you have any, it will help not burn out the edges of the rolls. We also got the kids their cubby house on Sunday too and built that Sunday afternoon. I'm half way through painting the cubby in a light grey and white heritage theme, I'll upload another pic when done Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89450&start=20 Re: Building the Hampton with Allworth Homes 229Mar 02, 2018 6:45 am Cubby house all painted. I'm getting a huge glossy print of our beach wedding to go on the wall and I need to restyle my bed and lamps still Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building the Hampton with Allworth Homes 233Apr 23, 2018 8:04 am 23/04/2018 - We finally began landscaping our front yard. We are getting a swimming pool on 10th May so we want our front yard ready for turf soon, we want to pull up the turf in the area of where our pool is going and use it in the front yard to avoid waste and save some money. We had loads of humps and bumps and rubble all over our front yard and didnt know where to begin so we smoothed out all the high spots removed all the rubble by hand and shoveled 3 cubic meters of fly ash. Next weekend is the turf underlay and maybe moving the turf although I'm not sure I want to deal with the kids playing in dirt in the backyard until the pool is done haha. I also need to decide on some nice plants as we want to put in a little garden under our bedroom window. Which we want to use small sandstone blocks as the garden edge to match the retaining walls, seen these on a website but they're in another state. Today we went plant shopping and got some grass trees and black mondo grass and popped those in the gardens, still need to get more plants but they may wait until after we have done the pool to see how much money we have left over. We absolutely love our grass trees and they suit our surroundings so well we also need to find something semi tall and skinny to plant in front of the render of our house. Managed to cut enough turf to finish the front yard and were expecting our pool to go in this Thursday 10th may, just as we finished cutting all the turf we got a phone call saying the pool wont be going in until the following week now as the builder has to go away for family matters. Now we have an extra week of our kids rolling in the dirt in our backyard and keeping them inside full time is just not possible oh well not much we can do about it, on the plus side were really happy with the front now, just need to put some nice white decorative pebbles in the garden beds and watch the plants grow and were done with the front yard anyway, then our concretor will be coming back to seal our concrete.
