Signed contract shows amount including the $6000. After the original quote and spec we made changes and so the updated spec shows the new amounts and a description like "changing roof tiles to colorbond saving of $3000" and "changing outside cladding to fibre cement $2000 extra". So the new spec that we've been working off clearly shows the changes and how much each change has cost or saved. Yet, the amounts don't add up. I did the maths by starting with the original quote price and added and subtracted all the amounts shown in the updated spec. My concern is that the builder has dismissed it when I showed him it in black and white. I really don't want to have to seek legal advice and have the whole thing blow up. I really just want it to be remedied amicably and honestly. I was hoping someone might have knowledge or experience of how these things are or should be handled. Thank you for your response If the builder doesnt want to acknowledge it, then you have no choice to seek legal advise. If you dont take legal advise, the builder will do whatever they want. Imagine, even with black and white, they ignore you. What happen when the building goes south, what are you gonna do? Do you think they will care? Without legal advise, they will play with you. No one should be affraid if they do things right. My advise, talk to legal. I dont think that they will remedy this. PS. Dont be affraid that they will mock arpund with your building. If everything by legal, they wont do anything funny. Thanks. I'll give him 'til Monday and take it from there. To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 7397 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 8908 Yes, the builder is required to finish the wall. What else have you missed? 1 2781 |
