Now this doesn't affect me as I brought land that was just about titled (and its titled now). But I have read a few stories about people being caught out by this nasty little clause. This especially applies to Victoria.
And this morning, reading the newspaper online there is more cases where people have been caught out because of developers who signed up people a year or so back now activating it because they can squeeze more money out of people

I think people need to be more aware of this clause and if they going to purchase any untitled land (which can get held up by many factors - the developer, council, local authorities having to sign off on the subdivision). If I was to buy land again and the land was going to title many months down the track and saw that in the contract. I would get out my ruler and elimanite it before signing anything. And if the other party doesn't agree to it, then I would walk away ..
