Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 25, 2008 5:56 pm Hi All,
I'm a newbie to this forum but its already been a life saver! I was about to put a deposit down with Marshall Baker until I read here about the company going belly up... At the Vantage Point estate in Mernda there is a display home that looks promising that nearing completion for a company called Dean Homes, I was wondering if anyone has dealt with them or has any information. I can't find a website so I can only assume they are small? Any help would be much appreciated! PS - does anyone know what will likely happen to Marshall Bakers designs? I really liked the Daintree! Thanks Re: Dean Homes 3Aug 26, 2008 11:30 am Paula Are you sure that was the name of the builder if you cant find them on the net?? I know a builder about to open his display home, his name is Dean, but not his company name. Went passed yesterday, pretty sure the sign said "Dean Homes", its right next to the Porter Davis display Re: Dean Homes 8Oct 07, 2008 3:13 pm Hi, we have just signed on with Dean Homes and so far I must admit, I have found them fantastic! They have been really flexible and accommodating, but I am interested in hearing of other people's dealings with them. Please PM me if you have time.....
Thanks Jessica Re: ............................. 9Jul 08, 2016 10:57 am Robyn Sampson .......................... Hi bessie, Can you please elaborate what is wrong with this builder? We are considering them to build our double story house in Doreen. //Cheers Re: Dean Homes 11Sep 10, 2019 2:59 pm Hi, The original thread of this topic is very old. I'm not sure what the issues were back in 2008 but this is our experience. After our (original) builder went into liquidation in October 2016, Dean Homes were the builder who stood up and helped us out, firstly be coming to see the house as it was, being on site during the 'incomplete inspection' with an independent assessor, submitting a quote to finish the house and fix the defects, etc. Their quote was the one accepted by the insurance company and I was really happy about that, I had wanted them to do it after I first met with them. I have to say they were the easiest to deal with, they got it done,in a very reasonable amount of time, and to a high standard. They were easy to contact (especially after our first builder wasn't), happy to meet to talk over things if it was easier, etc, (but was mainly able to talk about things over the phone). We haven't had to get them back to fix anything since moving in, in April 2017. If I was to build again (not planning to though, no need!) I would definitely be looking to use them again. Also if your home is completed how is after build service? Were there any defects and if so how do they work with you to resolve it. Iād really appreciate some feedback I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 109075 Hi there! Putting the feelers out there for those who have (or almost) built with Arli homes!
