Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes - Erecting a garage 2Aug 29, 2017 1:17 pm Sarah13 Hi All Can any Coral Homers tell me, are we allowed to erect a garage whilst the house is being built? Hehe we just went through this and it was a nightmare. Our garage is about 30 metres from the house and they still wouldn't give us permission. Our CSO at coral ended up calling our garage builder and tried to work with them so they were done before our build and there ended up being an overlap between the 2. Garage builder had to supply their insurance info etc. Others have had garages built with no hassles (bribiebell being one) like we had. I think it comes down to who you get and what mood they are in on the day. One of many inconsistencies. I'm probably not much help. We ended having the garage finished off when coral was doing our site works and plumbing. We are awaiting our plumbling to be approved and thought while we wait we might be able to get the garage up but it takes about 8 weeks to get our shed sorted so by the time we did that the house more than likely will have started. Think I'll call them and ask. Thanks again! We did, we didn't ask Corals permission we told them what we were doing having had all of our council approvals etc it had no effect on our building of the house. We said if there was an issue then they could errect temp fencing around our build considering the cost was included in the build and never used. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13769 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1801 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74701 |
