Our colour consultant tried to make us go shale grey on the doors (which hubby was considering, but I wouldn't have a bar of it) because the white doors would yellow over time. I looked at hubby and told him too bad, he'll just have to repaint them often if that happens to keep them white, lol. Hi Katrina and H Family, We went with white on white and it’s a water based paint that they use now so it’s not oil based. This means it won’t go yellow over time. When my parents repainted their home they got new doors with white water based paint as their old doors has gone yellow. The pop based used to allow the oil to flow to the surface of the paint creating a yellow sheen overtime so we went with the white on white knowing it was a water based product, it’s looking great and suits our finishes across the windows, skirting and ceilings so we are stoked. I am sure both of you will have great results too! 😊 Re: Coral Homes Noosa 20 Build 103Nov 20, 2017 8:39 am Hudson House KatrinaH H Family [quote="KatrinaH"]Hudson did you go white for your interior doors too? So I guess our colour consultant has probably been around since the old days and hasn't kept up on current paint types maybe? If I get a chance to speak to our painter I'll chew his ear off about it, lol. Soooo glad I didn't give in and let them go the shale grey on the doors with only white trims, that would've been disappointing. Re: Coral Homes Noosa 20 Build 107Nov 28, 2017 9:31 am Looks like electrical is almost finished, some small issues, some holes cut with no powerpoints put in as per the plan in the kitchen, so assume they will go in today. Powerpoint on island bench got changed without our knowledge so now we have a powerpoint visible from the hallway - not happy about it... We aren't allowed onsite as our SS is not available, so sorry for the blurry images, had to zoom in from the street view with camera. OMG that is ludicrous and an email. I would be so annoyed. viewtopic.php?t=88323&f=31&p=1771329#p1771329 Yep just a generic no-reply email from head office. Literally we will most likely have driveway and everything done, just waiting on handover in January. It's the worst kind of customer service. What is the point of having a finished home just sitting there empty over Christmas?!?! I would be even more determined to get a pre Xmas handover now! Practical completion 20th Dec...Walk through 9th Jan...Hand over 18th Jan. So that means a completed house will sit there for 4 weeks oh well... will just enjoy Xmas with the family. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13745 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1765 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17507 |
