It basically gets filled with cement. If floor tiles are going in there make sure they use a flexible adhesive. If you have skirting boards then any minor cracking should be covered by them. Check the slab against the drawing dimensions they should be in increments of brick length +10 mm ie 290 + 10 =300 mm 2. Check the brickwork with a tape measure it should be No of bricks x 300 -10 ie 10mm x 300-10= 2990 mm That just indicates the designer, SS & trades didn't check the work..not a good sign Make sure it's waterproofed properly OT You should get onto poor workmanship quickly.
