An update...the new SM has provided some updates on errors that need to be fixed after his walk through with his QA boss. He listed things like some bloating in bathroom walls that need to be fixed, the brick outside a window needs to be taken out and re bricked, the waterproofing needs to be done on balcony and portico and some of the outside mortar to be redone as there are some gaps n holes in some places. He still got the go ahead for painting of the rest of the house. Brickies will be revisiting next week to sort some of those issues with the bricks and mortar.

Sounds like you have a good SM now! It could have been all too easy for him to ignore those issues and just continue with the build. Great to know he is being thorough. 👍

True that....we are back to tradies being lined up.
We have all our bathroom tiling done so we have a walk through on Friday with our SM. We also now have tiling of the ground floor living area being done.

An update which is long overdue. We had a walkthrough with our SM. We have now completed the tiles for the living areas and bathrooms. They installed the robe doors in the master and guest room and have also done all the robe fittings. We were a bit disappointed with the fitting as we wanted the shelving at 2050 but they have put it at 2000 and now our cupboards inside the robes may not fit. What are others doing for Wir fitouts? We also have the garage door fixed and also have the balcony water proofed. I saw all the basins and sinks and bathtub delivered so that may be getting fixed next week. Some things that were pending now got fixed as we had queried the fixing invoice a couple of weeks ago when it was sent and they put it on hold. So I guess we will be expecting that now in 2 weeks or so once all the fixing items listed in the contract are completed. Pics to follow.....

Hi, I’m building with Metricon too. Have you already got quotes from other suppliers for driveway and landscaping? I have found trying to get quotes for these things is not easy, have to keep asking.

Metricon
Do drive way concreting and also concrete paths around the home. Just ask your csc.
An update from our SM. Now the ground floor LEDs are installed and so are switches and some power points, many are still to be installed. All ensuite sliding doors are fixed, linen cupboard shelving done, we have to work around the wardrobes since the shelves cant be moved now. The toilets are installed minus the Seat covers n lids. The man hole access is instslled. He said next week will be shower screens n taps, carpets, heating vents, balcony tiles n he may need to rip out the portico as it seems water logged as plastering was done before balcony waterproofing. Fingers crossed it all goes as planned.

Hi Drew you sent me the asphalt driveway link. I have got hubby onto that one. We were looking at modular fences....initially...have u heard of these?

https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t
yeah - I've heard of modular fences, but I'm not a fan of their look.

for paling fences, I really rate Paul from Domestic Fencing, he's just a nice bloke, and explains everything really well. He made a point of wanting to actually meet me on site so that he could discuss options, rather than second guessing what we might want.

for brick fence, I'm going to have a crack at doing it myself, assuming we can get council approval, possibly something not dissimilar to this - unsure if we'll render it yet, or bring down the same colours as we have on the house

Ok we have to decide as some of them look pretty good. Thanks for the paling contact. Hubby wants either modular or colorbond. Wow you are doing a brick wall yourself... that pic looks good. We have a few issues. Will provide an update in my next post.

An update from me. Our customer presentation meeting is pushed out to 26 Sep. We were very disappointed with Electricals as they made a fair few errors. Heating vents cut out in the wrong space in rumpus and one kids bedroom..not sure how they will correct this as how do u patch plaster? Then our led lights on portico not aligned n not in the right place, the 360 degree sensor incorrect as well. Some external wiring at wrong locations, some switches in the way of the mirrors and all internal junction boxes not installed, some exhaust fans not centered n the list goes on.
The stacker door is the 100 series instead of 300 so they have to even rip out the wooden frame not sure how that will go. Kitchen splashbacks incorrectly installed. Portico roof is water logged as balcony waterproofing was not done prior to plastering of portico so it has to be ripped out n re done. Our SS has been really good and will be getting all these fixed. He too was disappointed with the Electrical apprentices.
Besides that in terms of progress we have carpets installed, mirrors in all bathrooms installed.
