Starting our KDR journey Metricon Glendale 50

We have a site manager that seems really experienced n good....Fingers crossed....all goes smoothly. Have spoken to him on the phone...but will meet him in person tomorrow. We have 2 site mgrs, one until slab completion and the 2nd one until the end of the build. Is that what you all had too? Will try n post some pics in my next post.

Two SS seems to be pretty they have one who specialises in the slab pour then one for the rest of the build.

Thanks blackcat20...I swung by the site yesterday and no work has been done since Monday. So far just the piping has been done....since 9th May. Just wondering when generally is the pre pour inspection....how many days or weeks after site start?

Generally the day they box up the slab, so the day before they pour. Ours would have been this Monday just gone.

Hi Blackcat20 ..our Sm just msgd me that he is preparing for prepour today with pour tomorrow. For you did it take just a day for pre pour set up?

That’s interesting I never had two. Just one all the way. Originally it was given to another ss. But that ss looked at our plans and said no this is a job for this ss. Cos it had a lot of structural changers and it was huge. And he was right. I love our ss. He did so much for us. M tried to give him other jobs. But he had to let go of some. But he refused to let go of ours. We are so glad he stuck with it.

I asked him why they do that. He said it’s normal. Because new ones come in and they need to put them in a job. Then they transfer the existing ss to other jobs. I said ahhhh that explains why so many others get different ss through their build.

I think so. I was told box up monday and pour tuesday or wednesday depending on the weather. It was damp Tuesday and they poured yesterday.

Doulton777 it seems to be a thing out our way, they have an SS that specialises in slabs then swap to the normal SS. Same for everyone in the estate with M.

Yeah I have heard it on here too. It’s normal. But they even usually change ss half way through as well. I have heard that happening many times too.

It won’t take long to get the report. Hopefully there’s no issues. Is glendale 50 part of the freedom range?

Must be exciting with light at the end of the admin tunnel, and great to have the demo all sorted. Good luck with the site start.

Yes its is....thanks....where r u with yoir build? Hows it going?

Signed the "Estimate - PC" yesterday to lock in all the options, so the documents and our deposit will go to head office this week. Soil tests organised by M have been arranged for tomorrow. Potentially I should start my own build thread soon
How do u start a build thread r_13 and i want to post in my original post so its all centrally stored, but I find myself posting in the Building w Metricon group. Do I then copy the post in my original post? Apologies but not sure how this works....

I'm not sure exactly how you're interacting with the website -- on desktop, you should be able to start a new thread clicking the orange pencil icon button at the top right of the screen. There's otherwise a "My Topics" link nearby and you can select "New Topic".
@excited_builders: I misread your question, should've twigged since this is already your build thread. I'm not sure that there is any way to collate all your posts into the same thread. Sure, you can copy-paste them yourself into here. Although, they're always accessible through the My Topics > My Posts link anyway.

Hey good to have another glendale builder.......pics please?

An update of sorts.... at the moment there has been no work on site since last Wednesday. The roof tiles n windows have arrived but no work has been done. Maybe coz of the rain but not sure.

The slab invoice is still with CBA. My broker really made a mess of submitting the invoice n not following up with CBA on what is outstanding. Going to complain as its not acceptable. We have now received the frame invoice but have not yet received the group 4 frame completion stage report. Drew did you get this from Group 4 before you made the payment. Our BSC advised that group 4 are doing a re inspection tomorrow of the frame and will then finalise n send through their report which we can then forward to the bank.

The bank have confirmed that their inspector has done the slab inspection, but the invoice does not match the construction schedule submitted by our broker, hoping to get an answer tomorrow. So they have asked for an amended construction schedule.

Hey excited builders, we had troubles with our first installment too with CBA. Stuff wasn’t matching which seams very similar to you. But got sorted after 3-4 weeks from issued invoice. Once sorted framing invoice got paid within a week. My broker said 1st and last payment take a while.
Anyways good luck with your build. Glendale 50 is another nice big house. It was our original home to build. Be watching your progress
