E.g. they'll offer you a free plasma tv or free ceaserstone upgrade if you sign there and then.

Re: Do you have to sign the tender at the appointment 3Aug 25, 2008 10:07 am Hmm I was wondering this too Penny - as I'm going to my tender alone, I really wanted to be able to take it home for DH and our accounts manager to look at.
I'm also dealing with PD..my tender is tomorrow! My karma ran over your dogma Re: Do you have to sign the tender at the appointment 4Aug 25, 2008 11:02 am We signed our Tender on the day, and paid the money with H3nl3y, as they went through absolutely EVERYTHING that was written on the Tender with us. We even changed things during the Tender appointment, and they had no trouble ringing people to get prices and see if they were able to do it. Which is why the appointment took over 3 hours. They also printed up a new Tender on the day with all of our added changes and pricing, which was the one we signed off on. They were very helpful, and we had a great positive experience with it all. No ******, and no sercrets.
I probably wouldn't want to go on my own, as there is so much information (particually with site costs and what they all mean) to digest, so make sure you take something to take notes on. If you don't sign on the day you would probably have to make another appointment to sign and delay starting further (which may not bother some, as it's important to get it right!!). Even though we had signed the tender, I forgot to add in extra heating vents in the bathrooms which I had discussed with my Sales Rep. I sent off an email, and they were added quickly and with no fuss. I then received an updated Tender to sign, which I gave them at the Contract Appointment. No dramas, and H3nl3y have been fantastic. With ours (PD) our presenter went through every item and every price. Everything we had thought of asking was in it, we deleted a few things and added a few things. She left us alone for ages and came back with quotes and finally the final copy. We were happy with it but it is alot of information to digest. Don't feel like you HAVE to sign it. Happy at Home Re: Do you have to sign the tender at the appointment 6Aug 25, 2008 7:33 pm We didn't even get through the whole thing in one session, so we didn't sign on the first day (night! ) I can't remember if we were allowed to take it with us and go over it before the next mtg or not !?! If you're not hapy, don't sign yet! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Do you have to sign the tender at the appointment 7Aug 26, 2008 10:08 am I had read over our sales quote more times than I probably should have which gave me a pretty good understand what was and wasn't in the tender. The only surprise was our jump in site costs but there wasn't a lot we could do about that except drop a couple of items to offset the price. Re: Do you have to sign the tender at the appointment 8Aug 26, 2008 11:35 am One thing to be cautious of is when they make changes on the spot. I had ammendments done to my tender on the spot and they wrote it incorrectly but read it out to me as the correct size. So I missed it and singed the tender. So my advice is if they change something on the spot do not assume that because it's fresh in their mind they won't stuff it up because there is every chance they will. They can be very careless.
The biggest concern with the PD tender is that no structural changes are permited after signing, so thats the area that you need to be carefull of. Any non standard structural features or site features need to be tripple checked. The annoying thing is they changed my drawings 4 times after I signed the contract yet I wasn't allowed to make changes 1 2989 Hey. Head to a metal and decide on which profile you will use first.
