Our consultant was talking about them... Also makes every room dimmable as well. The butlers pantry is a great idea , and liking the master bed windows Do you have an idea what you want to do for your colour appointment? you get through a lot in that time... if anything think about the external colours you want, cause i found that the hardest to decide. Can't wait to see it all come together Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 3Aug 13, 2017 8:00 pm Yayyyy!! So glad you started a thread! House looks great! Super keen for when you do your colour selection. Any thoughts and ideas so far for colour scheme? Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Estate 4Aug 13, 2017 8:44 pm We are wanting moon dust bricks (white mortar), with a shale grey or Basalt roof, the timber slats above the portico, not sure about the render colour to the pillar and base of the window or weatherboard, would be nice to have a deep blue or even a dark grey but again, were not brave.. lol Because our house isn't huge, we'd like to go for light colours, wood look floors, a white kitchen, with a mixture of grey tones in the splashback. But I feel we are too boring and play it safe too much!! Lol any ideas ? We originally wanted to go moon dust too, but is more cream than grey... still looks awesome though. You could go basalt roof and basalt colour features above your windows.. the front pillar could be a darker colour as well, and keep the rest nice and fresh Other than our ensuite, our internal colours are light/white/grey as well. You can always add colour through your furnishings or feature walls. Easy to change furnishings, not tiles/floors. We still haven't gone But one of the Valeco displays at Yarrabilba has the moon dust bricks, I agree lighter than we originally thought, though they had matched them with the darker roof and darker window trims, facia etc.. it contrasted nicely. We were also shown another display that has the grey mortar with the moon dust, I wasn't a fan, it was very dull. That's true, better to change soft furnishings every few years! Thanks gr8ly Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 7Aug 13, 2017 9:15 pm Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 8Aug 13, 2017 9:19 pm Yeah I'd go for the dark grey pillar. But that's because I prefer neutral tones. My personal taste is monochrome because my opinion is that it is timeless. It also means that you can add colour through furnishings and have different themes throughout rooms and easily change it if you ever get bored by purchasing different decor. I don't see it as being brave to have monochrome and contrasting colours, I see it as being a safe option. But maybe that's just me. It's clean. It's fresh. It's modern. It's simple. It matches everything.... I just love it. Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 9Aug 13, 2017 9:26 pm i cant wait to see your place come together Stacey, it will look amazing! I wanted a dark exterior as well, but wasn't allowed lol.. i was thinking addams family as inspiration lol Definitely a fan of monochrome... but i think thats also a designer/creative thing as well. Don't mind 50 shades of grey, as apposed to 50 shades of everything else. As much as I love colour, I just think I would change my mind too often as to which colours I liked at the time. So plain seems best. And is so pretty anyway Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 11Aug 13, 2017 9:46 pm unfortunately my partner also gets a say lol haha i dont think monochrome is plain at all. Has your plans gone to council? Has your plans gone to council? Oh, haha your partner's not a fan of a dark exterior? bummer. Oh well, your selections still sound amazing! Nah, they can't be sent off until land settlement. So sometime in September.. just the waiting game atm. Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Estate 15Aug 20, 2017 2:01 pm gr8ly @breebarter can I ask how much it was to upgrade to the 2-in1 showerhead? We are thinking of doing the same for the ensuite... Hi Gr8ly, it was $150 but We don't know which one this is for yet? I'm guessing we get to pick from a range of them at colour selections? But well worth it in my opinion, nothing worse than a small, cheap shower head that goes rusty Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 16Aug 20, 2017 2:04 pm Thanks heaps yeah we totally overlooked it.. i think the standard ones are perfectly fine for the main bathroom, but i would prefer a nicer one for the one i will literally use everyday. def worth it Sooooo many things to think about while building... its driving me mental! Yeah we are keeping the standard in our main bathroom as well I keep thinking of things as well, actually do you know what the standard water wastes in the bathrooms are like? Are they plastic or stainless steel? This one has been bugging me Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 18Aug 20, 2017 3:09 pm im pretty sure they are stainless steel. I dont know if any builder does plastic? Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 19Aug 20, 2017 5:28 pm Not sure what the standards actually were to begin with, but my upgrades were: $190 to upgrade standard shower to Suttor combo from beaumonts (rainfall and handheld) $75 to upgrade each floor waste to a smart waste (the square with tiled insert). We also got one added to the Laundry (I don't believe there's one in there standard) Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 20Aug 20, 2017 6:17 pm you're right bananarama, although i don't think we added a drain to laundry. I wanted to, but did a poll with my friends and co-workers and most said they have never needed it... although always good to have i guess for an emergency spill. meanwhile thanks for the costs.. i was looking at the suttor combo earlier today So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27275 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8933 |
