Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 61Jan 18, 2018 4:15 pm Just found your thread love yr colour choices they will look beautiful love your furniture choices too we need a few things but will prob wait until we move in though I've been sneakily purchasing on the side Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 62Jan 18, 2018 10:11 pm I like either one of the two middle couches! They look a bit more classic to me Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 63Jan 19, 2018 10:20 pm staceyrussell Oh man, I'm jealous of all your furniture shopping... hahaha We're not doing any shopping until we've moved in. (I went to buy half price bathroom towels the other day and my partner told me not to.) I have my heart set on a bunch of items that are super expensive (always the case). I'd love to get a new bed frame (ours is broken), a dining table for the alfresco, a coffee table and a console for the entry. Once we've moved in I will attempt to find cheaper alternatives, so long as the quality holds up. Otherwise I'll have to try to convince my partner they are worth investing in. (Now that we have our own house I think I'd rather start purchasing quality furniture that will last a lifetime as opposed to say, Ikea stuff.) Anyway, I won't take up your thread talking about all my dream items, hehe, I'll probably post about it in my thread at some point. What store did you buy these from? I agree that a dark grey couch would suit your home best. Not sure which style though.... maybe the last or second last one? I suppose it depends on the comfort and your preference. Oh no, lol we have been buying everything prior to moving in (we are quite lucky that we have room to store things) just so we don't have to dip into our savings too much when we move in. We need it for the wedding in October next year! yeah always always the case, but I always reckon to go with what you love, and you are right, quality is the way to go now, do you have any little cherubs that will ruin the furniture? I got these from the Loganholme centre near Ikea, its a new store called Focus On Furniture, a Melbourne store Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 64Jan 19, 2018 10:26 pm We ended up going with this Lounge from plush, I have always loved it, and yesterday I just caved in lol. At the moment we went with the same colour as below, but I am still up in arms, maybe we will go with the more charcoal look, we have until March to decide anyway. I bought one over xmas for the same thing... then i realised i need a memory card to take any photos. Love your lounge! its nearly identical to the one ive been looking at.. although we dont have any more room where im staying, so i'll have to wait till we actually move in to get anything which is frustrating. Your estate looks really lush and well thought out. I wouldn't worry about it being too small... as long as the house fits Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 66Jan 20, 2018 11:56 am The first thought I had when I saw your photo of the block was "wow that massive" hahaha so i'm sure you'll be fine. Once it has a slab on it it will make it look bigger in a way aha, you start to see how everything fits. Cools photos too! It’s a super comfy lounge, you should deffinetly get it! Lol I think it fits perfectly on the land, so I’m sure it will be fine just so scary Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 68Jan 24, 2018 9:17 pm allblaqk The first thought I had when I saw your photo of the block was "wow that massive" hahaha so i'm sure you'll be fine. Haha thanks Will be taking more photos when some more stuff happens, just waiting on landscaping to the curbs and some asphalt and we’re ready to go for settlement! Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 69Feb 10, 2018 7:26 pm Hey guys, Not much to report except we now have street lights, asphalt, and an electrical box in the street. we received our deposit invoice from Valeco on Friday, freaked out a little considering we have not even settled on the land yet, but I rang them and they said it was just a generic send out so they will put a note on our file that settlement is at the start of next month. Does anyone know who's responsibility it is to retain the fall on the right. our land is completely flat and the gradient starts on the land below us. We were under the impression if the buyers next to us would like to cut into the fall to take advantage of that extra land, then it would be their responsibility to retain. Though, we have had other residents in our estate say conflicting statements. any help? Cheers Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 70Feb 10, 2018 7:31 pm looks like progress I would have thought that the lower level would be responsible for retaining if required. Maybe someone else has insight? our land was flat and level with neighbours on both sides, so luckily we didn't have to deal with it. Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Estate 71Feb 10, 2018 10:11 pm Thanks gr8ly, I’ll try and look into it further. I’m on the same page as you, considering it’s not even our land to touch. Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 72Feb 23, 2018 8:26 pm Settlement Update! Land titled yesterday. 9th March is settlement day! Two flippin' weeks, Fiancé keeps saying 'No, too soon, too soon' as were trying to save as much as possible to move and for our wedding. But I say bring it on lol. Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 73Feb 23, 2018 9:16 pm Bring it on I reckon also. yay how exciting! Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 74Feb 23, 2018 10:19 pm Yay! wow not long to go now.. Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Estate 76Mar 01, 2018 8:00 pm We got an email from a company today with a form saying a private certifier has been engaged.. help, we are super annoying first time builders with lots of questions haha What does this mean? Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 77Mar 01, 2018 8:05 pm we had a private certifier as well.. its a good thing. Your plans will probably be approved a lot quicker rather than waiting from someone in council.. at least i think thats what it means lol Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 78Mar 01, 2018 8:18 pm Yeah we also had this. I don't know if it really made it quicker in council as we took 8 weeks lol. But for Ipswich and not Logan. So hopefully does for you Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Estate 79Mar 01, 2018 8:26 pm Thanks guys, hopefully Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 80Mar 01, 2018 10:21 pm allblaqk Yeah we also had this. So hopefully does for you Wow 8 weeks, yikes Initially with Plantation last year, before kicking them to the kerb, Ipswich Council took 3 weeks. We are in the final leg, colours on the horizon then sign off and awaiting council approval. A quick update, we didn't have site start before Easter. Summit can't seem to give me a day when they are scheduled to begin, so I'm left with a vague "within 10-20… 4 26733 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA?
