Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 101Mar 17, 2018 8:07 pm Hey guys, must be because we are more south maybe? Not sure we haven’t been given any details yet, how long does it usually take for them to contact us after? You’d think customer service would give out an email or phone number to contact them. Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 102Mar 17, 2018 8:13 pm you would think.. but they don't.. it's up to the SS to give it to you themselves.. our first one never gave out his number, and only communicated via email on a Friday afternoon.. another we didnt hear from at all, and another called us straight away - he was actually really good (initials P.S - i think). The new one we've been assigned seems really good. He called as well, and even met onsite with us. The only one so far to do so. You might have to request an onsite meeting if that's what you want to do. But they will contact you around slab pour - but once again depends on the SS. The admin girls don't provide their details. Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 103Mar 20, 2018 1:25 pm My supervisor is apparently away sick and a construction manager has taken over. Valeco wont give us the CM's name or contact detail and apparently he said no to meeting us on site (we didn't even say a specific date). This is ridiculous. 2014 Custom Home - Antech Constructions - 2018 Custom Home - Valeco Homes Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 104Mar 20, 2018 2:42 pm _sallz My supervisor is apparently away sick and a construction manager has taken over. Valeco wont give us the CM's name or contact detail and apparently he said no to meeting us on site (we didn't even say a specific date). This is ridiculous. Yeah that’s not right. If he is going to be taking over for the rest of the build, I’d be taking it further. This is the person overlooking the whole build of your beloved new home, I’d say it was your right to meet them.. or at least have a name and contact details How long after did everyone have to wait until their SS contacted you about starting? Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 105Mar 23, 2018 5:23 pm Wasn’t this a surprise, we didn’t even know they started! Still haven’t heard from our construction supervisor, I emailed Valeco today and they said usually they wait until slab goes down to contact you, she said she will let ours know we’re keen for him to call us. So I guess plumbing has gone in and their ready for slab prep.. Haha I’m freaking out because everything feels really small. Like really small. Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 106Mar 23, 2018 6:18 pm breebarter Just checked through our emails to see our timeline... We had building approval on 04/09/17, our land registered on 5/09/17 and we returned signed council approved plans on this date too, we were give our initial site supervisors name (only, no contact details) on 6/09/17. On the 25/09/17 our site supervisor called us to say hello (but never organised an on site meeting). We didn't get a slab until sometime end of October (almost 2 months into the build - rain delayed it).. I don't have an exact date, but we had frames happening around 04/11/17. We never met on site with our original SS and on 21/11/17 we were informed that our SS left and were assigned a new one (again, name only and no contact details). After a few emails we were finally able to arrange a walk through with this new SS (who turned out to be a temp) on 12/12/17. By this stage we already electrical and doors/windows. You might have a great SS though.. as soon as you hear from him you should ask to meet up on site. We should have done this when we first heard from ours. Don't worry.. the house always looks small as a slab. Wait until you have frames and walls and it will feel much better! Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 107Mar 23, 2018 7:16 pm agree with staceyrussell. We didn't know ours had started either.. wasn't until after our slab was poured that we knew who our SS was. But how exciting - it's all happening!! Slab will always look tiny... You don't get a sense of size until the roof and walls go up. That's been the most exciting moment for me... walking through the house with the frames up. Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 108Mar 23, 2018 11:10 pm Congrats on the start! Thanks guys l, I have heart it all looks small but it’s so nerve racking isn’t it lol! Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 111Mar 24, 2018 8:14 pm Today we went out to Spectrum Plants Gold Coast at Wongawallan. Love this place, such a beautiful drive and they even have a petting zoo. We ended up buying our first plant haha! A dwarf lemon tree. I really want a dwarf olive tree now. Anyone in the area or close by should check out the nursery for their plants. Looking good! We also noticed we had lots of steel and a pile of something on our lot that was dropped off today, they don’t waste any time. Loving your plans we considered Valeco before deciding on Brighton homes. Congratulations on your site start 🎉 Cant wait to see it come together. :-D Modified Miami 31- Brighton Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=91265&f=31&p=1789112#p1789112 Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 113Mar 24, 2018 10:10 pm Thanks Kailie, it’s such a beautiful area out where you are, so many rolling hills and greenery! It’s bittersweet this whole process isn’t it. You’d love to buy all this stuff, but you know your budget really won’t love you after it lol! Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 116Mar 25, 2018 4:46 pm need to get a couple of couches, guest bed, entertainment units, washing machine, fridge and a few other bits and pieces. ugh It's just the couches im having trouble choosing. I already know what i want for everything else. Plus we are getting a custom wardrobe fitout.. need to save some money for that too. Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 117Mar 26, 2018 8:43 pm Im finding it so hard to restrain myself from going out to our site every day, as everyday there has been progress. Today we have slab preparations. Also does it look like we have any piering? We put an extra $2500 into our contract for 'Just in case' we need piering, but to us it doesn't look like we have needed any.. is this something Valeco will try and get us for, or should we be able to get our money back for this? I'm guessing they won't say anything unless we bring it up first.. I wish we knew whether everything was okay structurally or even what we were looking at? unfortunately we just don't have the extra cash right now to get inspections for each stage, though we will definitely make sure the last stage is privately inspected. Anyone have any insight on what this trench at the front is for? He seemed very genuine and said that he is focused on making sure we understand every stage, he said we are able to call or text him any time with our concerns and no issue is too small. apparently he has been with the company for a very long time so we will see how he goes. Tomorrow the slab will be poured, and left to cure over easter. Next Tuesday the frame will start and be finished by the end of next week. Then the following 2 weeks after that will be focusing on pre-plumbing, pre-wiring, roof and externals. Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 118Mar 26, 2018 8:50 pm Yay! seems like you got lucky with you SS - hopefully smooth sailing ahead. Will happen really quickly once the slab is down. Get out that drone Re: Our First Home - Building with Valeco in Brookhaven Esta 119Mar 26, 2018 8:56 pm The drone, the drone. Keep forgetting to take it out! no doubt we will be out there tomorrow afternoon to see the slab so ill remember to take it out! So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27709 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA?
