I'm wondering what sort of things we can expect to fix the price for in a building contract before we sign. We have quite a few things listed in our quote as allowances at the moment, and we are still finalising our layout and internal structures etc, but obviously once that is decided we want to fix the price of as much as possible before we sign.
We are getting a soil report done before we sign, so presumably the footings price can be fixed. Once we are happy with the size and layout, I assume we can fix the price of the concrete, the structural steel and the air conditioning? I am also assuming we can get the service lengths and connections fixed. Correct me if I am wrong!
Other allowances we have listed at the moment are stormwater disposal system, energy rating upgrades, site works, surplus soil removal, stone benchtops, staircase and balustrades, front door, stacker doors and flooring.
What can we reasonably expect builders to know the exact cost of before we sign the contract????
