Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral home Kirra 23 project 31Apr 12, 2018 7:17 pm Kejayetu Just an update on our progress; I am plenty terrible at this We had a start date on the 02/04/2018. Our plans were submitted to the private certifier on the 12/01/2018. Our CSO says we may have to pay a $750 penalty because the start date is long overdue thanks to the slow approval process. We called the private certifier to find out why there has been a delay, they tell us they can't divulge much information other than the fact that it could be that they are waiting for paperwork etc. Now the CSO tells us according to the contract, a delay at the approval process is considered the customer's fault. How is that fair? Has anyone building through coral homes had such an experience??? And how was this dealt with? Hi Pablo sorry I did not receive your last notification regarding electrician... We are in Newie but when we spoke to him before rough in he asked us if we wanted to any more and gave us a quote. I have no idea if it saved us heaps but at least its done before we move in. With regards to payment this must be something new C has brought in as MjMac was talking about it in the general build thread too I think (someone was) I would def question it as the certifier/ admin /approval process took forever with us and it was in a large part because they were waiting on documents with Coral. It is out of your hands once they send it to Certifier unless you have made more changes and needed variations and if they are trying to charge you for delay ask them why they did not use the local council instead of certifier? I def would not be paying anything....
