Nothing better than seeing trades working on your house when you least expect it. 😁 Re: Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 85Apr 23, 2018 10:07 pm Went by the house around 12 on my way to swimming with the kids and all the sarking and the roof trusses were done. I spoke to the guys, there was 5 or 6 having lunch and we had a friendly chat. Not long now and they’ll be locking you out 😀 Re: Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 89May 05, 2018 7:39 pm No progress update for this week because I haven’t been down there and didn’t bother calling our SS for an update. I have however been to the stonemason during the week and then to the stone wholesalers to pick the exact slab to be sent to the stonemason. We threw away the idea of engineered stone after my first visit, none of the marbles compared in any way to the real thing, we also have cracked caesarstone at our current house and think their product, warranty and after care is crap We have decided to go with natural Indian Jet Black granite on our 2 bench tops and waterfall, it’s double the strength of engineered stone and the black is the strongest colour For the splash back, back of island and the side of the island that has seating under and not the waterfall will be this gorgeous New York Marble. We had decided to go in there and pick the marble we love and disregard price. We walked up and down all the isles and my hubby and I both stopped at this particular slab and said that was the one. It’s now old hold for us until our stone mason picks it up to cut and polish it. How exciting getting to pick out the exact slabs. Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 91May 07, 2018 9:16 pm Homestead2017 Love your stone choices! How exciting getting to pick out the exact slabs. It was awesome, we had high vis vests and all, just walking isles and isles of marble and granite. They had some slabs of what they call the perfect calacutta, it was beautiful but about $7-8k per slab wholesale uncut and not exactly what we were after. I could have spent hours there lol Re: Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 92May 07, 2018 9:26 pm aphsta Homestead2017 Love your stone choices! How exciting getting to pick out the exact slabs. Re: Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 93May 07, 2018 9:36 pm I agree. We figured if we paid up for natural now the only thing we’d ever have to do is replace cabinet doors down the line when they’re getting old and tatty Re: Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 94May 21, 2018 9:14 am We are at lockup! The bricks have been cleaned and we love how they have come up Kitchen is going in tomorrow and bathrooms Friday They’ve both been waterproofed and my bath and laundry tub are inside the house ready and waiting All the cornice, architraves and hinged door jams are inside and a pallet with the tiles and everything the tiler needs is onsite also Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 95May 21, 2018 6:59 pm Super exciting things will move along fast now. Love you bricks they look great! Re: Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 97May 22, 2018 11:32 am ydnewa Wow, looking good. Also loving your bricks . Super exciting. Oh what to look forward to. It’s funny, the priceleader range didn’t have many brick choices and hubby and I both chose this brick saying “this is the only one I don’t hate”. This is now a choice we have really come to love. Most builders seemed to charge more for flush mortar and off white but it was great that Allworth included this as standard. The garage door and front door will be windspray, a light grey so should break up the darkness too and I’m looking forward to seeing that installed Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 98May 25, 2018 11:30 am And because building never goes smoothly we had our kitchens installed on Tuesday and because of where they cut the slab and filled it in is a hump out kitchen isn't level and some parts aren't touching the floor. This was discovered last night when hubby arrived down there to measure for the granite and stone for our stonemason. Now he can't measure until it's fixed Hubby just had a meeting on site with the South Coast Manager and our SS. It was decided Timpelle have to come back take the kitchen off the hump so the concrete can be ground down, then installed again. It's a real shame because other than that I love how it turned out. It wont get damaged fixing it so it will continue to look good. Our floating bathroom cabinets have been installed by them too and are fine. We are just getting the plastic manooga tops and then upgrading to black granite with a New York Marble sink, or a New York Marble bench top with a white porcelain sink, we will decide when we move in. Then a concreter has spent 4 hours grounding down the concrete to make it flat and Timpelle have put the kitchen back in. The SS and South Coast manager have both called my hubby to let him know it was done and it’s perfect. We can’t check it this weekend but we are going down there for the next one for the long weekend Re: Allworth Avalon / Sonata Our Dream Home 100Jun 05, 2018 3:03 pm SS called hubby yesterday to advise the house will be done by the end of month. The bathrooms are done and painters are due to start next week. They’re just doing the final little bits. We are going down this weekend to measure the kitchen for the stone now that it’s been fixed up. I’ve contacted our concreter and we are all systems go for early July. I am meeting the flooring guy laying our Karndean planks at the house on Friday morning to go over the job with him, the planks are in our second garage ready to go. He will get started once we get the keys too. We have the blinds all made and down there ready to go too. We will have to organise my brother in law and his nephew (both electricians) who are installing the ducted air conditioning and go over the plans with them and see if they can hang my lovely pendants in the kitchen and dining. After that we have to work out what fencing to do and what to do about laying grass as it’s winter and the block is mostly sand Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21? Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 71727 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5203 Your house should come in "as new" condition. It should be clean, and without stains 1 4543 |
