Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 21Sep 12, 2017 6:13 pm Wow that would be amazing! We lodged in Council two weeks ago but don't think we could go with CDC. I have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a wait. From what I've heard Wollondilly isn't renowned for being fast. Did you go with a private certifier? Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 22Sep 12, 2017 6:15 pm Yes I agree will be following along with both progresses, its hard to find people who are doing allworths and sharing photos I find. I see a lot of other house threads with photos but not allworths. I ran into a lady who has built 15 allworth homes and she gave me heaps of tips. This is our first build so I've learned so much, I'm sure I've missed things but it is what it is haha. I should have gone the 90cm oven but I got the 75cm oven as its the same capacity but I think I like the look of the 90 better. The kitchen people think it will take to long to re quote it with the new oven. How have you guys found the processes? Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 24Sep 12, 2017 6:19 pm I don't think my last reply worked, Whats the difference with having a private certifier? I didn't even know you could do that. It only took 4 weeks in Goulburn council, they have been awesome in pushing the approvals out which is good news for us. Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 25Sep 12, 2017 6:28 pm I regard 4 weeks as pretty fast so you are really lucky! CDC is complying development meant to fast track the development process. I think because we required septic and are on acerage it wasn't an option for us should have probably checked that though. I'm finding the process ok most of the time. Would like to not have to check every little thing that comes back as there's been lots of stuff we've picked up and have to query all the time. We're getting there though! You must be getting excited not long now till you'll actually be building! Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 26Sep 12, 2017 6:29 pm Yeah, not too many in depth Allworth build threads at the moment on hormone. CDC or complying development uses legislation by the state government to bypass council approval processes so long as the development adheres to specific guidelines. I your case candice, council was just as quick so no harm done there. CDC in Sydney takes around 4 weeks, I have seen some DA's in wollondilly council for months. Oven width is a personal taste thing, if the 750 wide has the same capacity, then I personally wouldn't be too concerned with going to 900 wide, it would be eating into drawer / cupboard space. Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 28Sep 22, 2017 8:43 am Exciting news, we sign contracts Monday. I did not expect it to be that quick at all, so we will be starting by November the latest woo hoo. Where is everyone else up to ? Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 29Sep 22, 2017 1:29 pm Awesome, congratulations. We are still waiting approval from CDC, next Wednesday is the 4 week mark, so hopefully not too much longer. Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 30Sep 22, 2017 4:08 pm Thats good, hopefully its very soon . I can't wait till we all start building. Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 31Oct 13, 2017 9:36 am I went to our block today Allworth have put up the sign and marked out with pegs hoping to start very soon. Where is everyone else up to ? Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 32Oct 13, 2017 9:47 am Awesome, look like you will be off in no time. We are signing contracts Tuesday next week, so should be able to get a slab frame and roof prior to Xmas hopefully 😁 Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 33Oct 13, 2017 10:52 am How exciting!! I'm hoping so too for ours but they did tell me they shut down for 3 weeks over Christmas which I thought was pretty good as some tradies take 6 weeks. I'll be excited to see it all come together. Have you received your drafts back from the kitchen company? I'm still waiting on mine. Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 34Oct 13, 2017 10:54 am Xmas is always fun, the builder might be back, but it depends on how long the tradies are off for. We have signed off on the upgrades etc but do not have any drawings as yet. Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 35Oct 13, 2017 11:16 am Yeah thats true, I didn't think of that. Hopefully they have something lined up for when the new year begins anyways. Yeah same as us, I can't wait too see what its going to look like. Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 36Oct 13, 2017 3:56 pm Wow I've missed a lot! It's been a busy time for us aside from the build lately so haven't had much time to follow along on here. Congrats to both of you on making such good progress how exciting to be seeing some action before xmas! Candice that is wonderful that things are moving along so quickly for you guys. Please keep updating, would love to see your progress!! Current update for us is we are still in Council.... it's been just over 6 weeks now so surely we're going to hear some news soon! We have completed all of the appointments now but still waiting on our kitchen plans. Did you get them back before you signed your contract? I've just started a thread on our build - finally had some time to upload everything! How do I add the link though so you can find it? Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 37Oct 13, 2017 4:15 pm Hopefully not t too much longer then Homestead. If you login from a pc, you can go into settings and put a link to your thread in the signature. Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 38Oct 13, 2017 4:31 pm Thanks! That seems to have worked Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 39Oct 14, 2017 9:26 pm Hello. We are building the Sonata at St. George’s Basin on the south coast. I’m just waiting on council approval, it’s been 4 and a half weeks so hoping it happens in the coming weeks. I also just signed off my kitchen quote this week so it’s gone to drawing viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89059 Re: Allworth Langford Countryside or Langford 40Oct 14, 2017 9:40 pm Hi Aphsta, I have been following along with your thread as well. You should be close to getting out of council now? |
