Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 23Aug 14, 2017 8:34 am I really like the plan, it looks great! Have you asked the builders what selections you can pick from? Have you gone around and pre-selected anything? We did that, and it saved us hours of interviews. Especially the tiles - the Beaumonts people told us what ranges were included in the F0rm@t build range, and I just went around and picked everything out aaaaages beforehand. So we went in armed with a list, and what took longest was picking grout colours... quickest selection interview ever... about 25 minutes, where they allow two hours. We looked at bricks, chose paint, colourbond, cornice, laminates, stone, and everything when we had time. Didn't have to waste hours in selections then, when it wasn't so convenient. I did heaps of legwork, but then we ended up with a fully formed cohesive plan of attack, with plenty of time to choose back-up items, in case our first choices weren't available. Clipsal was the longest... we couldn't really pre-organize much except positioning! It made it so much less stressful, having only one or two longer selections interviews. Thank you I just realised the second lounge is a bit small on my diagram - its actually bigger and the WIR is smaller 😉 Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 25Aug 14, 2017 1:21 pm JayaJaya I really like the plan, it looks great! Thanks so much for the advice! I have a fair idea of what I want to achieve and have visited Beaumonts 4 times already - and I change my pre selections with every visit lol. I also have preselected colours/laminates/doors etc from the showroom but I want to get everything locked in so i can stop changing my mind 😂 Id really like to supply our own stone benchtop, though im not sure if Coral Homes will let us... the charges to upgrade stone with our builder are CRAZY!!! Im usually so decisive with everything - but in this case, i find that i second guess every single choice 🤔 especially when i see peoples houses on this forum. Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 26Aug 14, 2017 1:30 pm We ended up asking to change our SC due to our SC not responding at all - Coral Homes accepted our request and our new SC is great. He's submitted our plans to be drawn up, and our tender has been ordered for September 4th. Still a few weeks away... i dont like being patient 😂 especially when our first land payment is due this week 😣 Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 27Aug 14, 2017 2:20 pm Hahahaa.... I second guessed everything until I just 'decided', and made myself say, 'If I don't like it I can change it'. Having said that, it was probably easier for me - having lived in so many homes that I really KNEW what I didn't like and why. Being sensible, as you obviously are, you can see how you now have heaps of time to change your minds! I was pretty definite with colours - I had a bootful of sampes before I had final drawings... The only thing I really changed my mind about was the cornice - I went for the slimmer one in the end, same style, just slimmer. Surely you can bring your own stone? Or they can leave it off, with the sinks and whatever and you can get kitchen folk to install stone and fixtures? Beaumonts is so dangerous - there should be a law. Good luck with the new SC. It's nice when they can be bothered! Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 29Sep 06, 2017 8:02 pm We have proper plans!!!!
I went and made a couple of extra changes though, so this isnt the final copy. Our contract has been ordered for the 20th of September ... we are - ever so slowly - getting closer and closer! Re: Coral Homes - Modified Grange 29 34Sep 08, 2017 6:35 am Hello, I'm new to the forums and made an account to post on yours. I've been looking up the grange 29 as I really like this plan but would like to modify some areas. I like how you have made the changes especially the family and dining leading to the alfresco. Did coral homes charge you extra to add changes to the existing floor plan? Did you draw your own plan and showed them or did you just explain to them what you wanted and they drew it out for you? Hey Carrot Welcome and Thanks! I really love the outdoor L shaped living area. Now, you dont get charged to make the changes, but you do get charged for upgrading - for example, we had our master suite increased by 43cm, which increased the overall size of the house. We also upgraded to cornerless stacker doors, so we were charged for that too. But, you get credits back for certain items too. We relocated bed 3 and laundry to media, so we were given a credit for the concrete floor pad and media double doors. I will post up some of the pricing i was charged to give you an idea. I made heaps of changes :/ We spent close to 2 years in a process with TA. It was horrible..... we got to tender, and the first cut was 50% over our budget which "they care such about meeting ".
