Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 21, 2017 4:39 pm Hi Everyone, Our current house is falling apart. We love the area and want to stay where we are, but a renovation job will be way too extensive and it will be cheaper for us to knock down and rebuild. To help with the cost of this we were hoping to build a home with a small two bedroom flat on the side of our house, and rent it out. We have been looking at some wisdom home designs and GJ gardener. We have also heard Metricon are good with dual occupancy builds. After any recommendations, experiences etc with dual occ and or these building companies. This is also all new to us, we are not confident in the steps we need to take, and also how much we need to leave as a buffer. Reading some of the threads here has made me very nervous, wondering what we will be able to afford if things go wrong. It's all a bit overwhelming, any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
