Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 21, 2017 12:46 pm I'll stick to the facts - has anyone had this exact issue and knows what it is. New build. Couple of major leaks. Fixed in first couple of weeks. 3 months later - had major rains for the last 2-3 days. Ceiling is now puffy and has fat lines showing as well as some holes and paint starting to come off the roof. Internal and external walls are showing washy pale effect through paint. Informed builder who sent a workman and reported it as no issue/not water damage and will be 'cleaned up' at 6 months maintenance. Can anyone ID what's happening to the roof and walls? If it gets worst after the 6 month maintenance handover is it my responsibility to fix the ceiling, painting etc. Thanks. Yer it doesn't look great... and it was with a mid-tier builder. Would water damage make it look like that or is it just a crummy job with a bad mix when they were doing the job. It's raining next week so I'll be climbing up there soon. Re: New build - ceiling looks puffy and warped. What is it? 5Jul 24, 2017 8:32 pm Puffiness would indicate water damage, which can travel along and drop anywhere, I would be cautious with builders own check, often trying to hide from having to repair, do as structuralbimguy says or get a good inspector. It's hard to comment as the photos area bit dark ( you might need a new 15 - just got one and wow ) Jokes aside, I can see one member that is cracked. I would find a… 2 2222 Thank you.
