LOVE your facade, LOVE your high ceiling entry, LOVE your coffered media, LOVE your fixed windows and peek-a-boo... love it all! Excited to see your tiling and cabinetry take shape too, hopefully you'll get more momentum soon. Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 203May 07, 2018 6:13 pm gr8ly haha thanks staceyrussell, your house has given me confidence in ours! when you guys moving in? I wish I knew! Rectifying our inspection defects will probably be another couple of weeks, then sorting out handover and actually moving will be another couple I guess? I really need to start sorting/organising/packing more things... but today was spent playing Tomb Raider Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 204May 07, 2018 6:22 pm how annoying! but you'd rather wait a bit longer to make sure everything is perfect before moving in. haha! perfect day for it. I just ate most of the day. Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 205May 11, 2018 5:50 pm gr8ly as promised - some progress photos Was hoping our cladding would be finished this week (after the 3rd week), but at least we are one step closer to lock-up. Our front facade is mostly done. I will be livid if our cladding is not done this week - garage door is also expected to be installed as well. I'm really looking forward to the kitchen/bathroom fitouts. Meanwhile the pile of trash continues to heighten - on the verge of hazard. We added a coffered ceiling and it's come up really nicely. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The office - bit of a quirky layout but will allow for some interesting arrangements and flexibility Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have a peek-a-boo feature cutout - the idea behind this was to not only bring in light from our hallway, but also offer a glimpse of the outdoor area from the entry without giving up privacy. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ still a bit undecided about our bricks -they will still need to be acid washed, and supposedly end up as a crisp white finish. Think i would still prefer to render. Anyway love our fixed window (off our dining room) to give an uninterrupted view of our non-existent feature garden we plan to do down the track.. well not me.. someone else. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It's been such a slow slow process to get to this point. Our SS assures us time will be made up somewhere down the track.. they are running out of time however. It's all looking rather splendid gr8ly! Love your entrance foyer height and your fixed window - once the gorgeous garden plan is in place it will be a marvellous feature. You are getting there gr8ly, you are definitely getting there! Thanks joggles it's getting there... slowly. Are you settled in yet? how is everything on your end? We've been in for a week and have boxes everywhere. Fighting a battle with NBN connection currently! Also trying to get the multitude of things that needed fixing by Dixon contractors 'fixed'. Loving the view. We've also decided to put in plantation shutters across the main kitchen, dining and living area instead of curtains/blinds etc. Have a bit of a wait because of the late decision but we wanted to see what would best work before making the call. Will post up some pics once the NBN debacle is sorted. Working on slowest speed ever to just do this. I don't know how i would survive without a strong internet connection. I would up my phone data plan i think. plantation shutters will look amazing, yet still let in light. Glad that you're in already! we are a good few months off that. Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 210May 25, 2018 9:58 pm Thanks Tribe7 will do a quick visit tomorrow and give you an update. Garage door is in, but not sure cladding is finished. I would be very very surprised if cabinetry is even close to starting. They seem to do one thing at a time. Staircase went in, but will need to be fixed up - completely misunderstood what we wanted. Anyway fingers crossed we have some positive progress and not feel like we are going backwards. Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 211May 25, 2018 10:25 pm Gosh I don’t know how you haven’t pulled all your hair out yet. If each task is done well you don’t mind but to install your staircase completely wrong is a bit rough. I’m looking forward to seeing the pics, that entry void is amazing Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 212May 26, 2018 8:15 am gr8ly Thanks Tribe7 will do a quick visit tomorrow and give you an update. I haven't been able to take any photos, because we've been locked out 2 weeks in a row.. we got this back from our S/S . Something is happening. We've been told they will be going over contract.. we are supposed to be moving in this month, but they are at least 3 months away from finishing. Still hard to imagine how the kitchen will look without the floors and stone, but i do like the finish Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 216Jun 06, 2018 8:40 pm gr8ly Thanks staceyrussell it's a night of uber eats of guilt-free fast food haha. Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 219Jun 08, 2018 10:18 pm thanks breebarter - will look very different again once the stone goes in. I really want to get in there and make sure there are no other mistakes being made lol Re: Custom VALECO build - BRISBANE 220Jun 08, 2018 10:22 pm gr8ly thanks breebarter - will look very different again once the stone goes in. I really want to get in there and make sure there are no other mistakes being made lol I know what you mean, being locked out is the hardest ever. I have been able to sus out mostly what times our SS goes to our house - usually Friday afternoons, so sometimes we are able to catch him and he lets us in. Everything will be fine, it’s a shame they have made so many mistakes but hopefully they start to pick up the slack now. Have they fixed everything that was meant to be done? I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34270 6 55348 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27721 |
