Actually we are feeling a bit frustrated with the slow going since they've returned from Christmas break. There were some days this week when absolutely nothing was going being done on the site and we were disappointed to say the least. We have a new SS that's just been appointed, the last one rarely communicated with us and on the also rare occasion when we asked a question was pretty terse in response. The new one has certainly been friendlier and we are hoping that with his supervision the build pace will pick up again. We've just got the invoice for the progress payment for 'enclosed' - so it is moving, we just need it to move faster!! Communication is definitely the key. We get communication once a week - usually on a late friday arvo (probably so we don't have time for comments or questions). Enclosed stage is moving along though. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 108Feb 04, 2018 7:28 pm chrinee We haven't started gr8ly. Colours, specs and finance are all done... just awaiting final plans. Fingers crossed for slab poor in early March... but I have no idea how long Covenant and Council take!? Are you building in stage 1? when our plans were finally sent to council, it was approved pretty quickly (less than 2 weeks). It was all the admin prior which took so much time. I think we went through 13 or 14 revisions because it kept coming back with mistakes. Things should be pretty quick once your slab goes down. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 114Feb 11, 2018 5:03 pm tribe7 we have a roof.. well not quite, but nearly! I used my drone i got over xmas for the first time hhaha! mostly to track the progress in our estate... (im hiding in the mini). Meanwhile I noticed the builders have left the insulation open to the elements over the weekend.. Not sure if this needs to be replaced now. I sent an email questioning whether it should be replaced. We also got our cornerless doors installed . Meanwhile all our windows are grey tinted (for energy efficiency). They seem really dark, so im hoping it won't stop letting in lots of light. They must be skillion? It would be good if they can replace your anticon blanket, it’s designed to stop moisture and condensation forming in your roof cavity and insulation batts, if it’s super soggy like that I don’t know it will work too well especially if it doesn’t fully dry out before they install the colourbond. Stacked doors look awesome such a massive opening, is your plan on your thread? I just went back through your selections and gosh your tiles are stunning. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 116Feb 11, 2018 6:34 pm one is a flat roof and the other is a ridiculously high skillion roof.. they are also on very narrow blocks and have both pretty much built to boundary. I think after tonight the anticon will definitely need to be replaced. They probably assumed we wouldn't have rain at all. my photography skills are lacking lol .. will need to take some proper pics to get a proper scope of everything. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 117Feb 11, 2018 10:04 pm Coming along there nicely gr8ly! Strategic parking of that mini too! Love your stacked doors! So we have been assigned a new guy. Hopefully this changeover doesn't delay our build, considering they will need to replace half our insulation already. I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34266 6 55311 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27236 |
