Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 21, 2017 5:25 am I'm not an engineer nor somebody that has exp. with construction. I've only read and watched a lot of tutorials. I know it's very dangerous but I just can't stop, it's like something invisible is pulling me underground. I've started digging a hole which will be 4 meters deep. Then I'll start digging to the sides and make a small room with arched ceiling. Everything done piece by piece from within the earth. The walls and ceiling will consists of foam concrete strengthened with hemp fibres and maybe basalt rebar if needed. Ill be making every brick myself and cast them in a way that they interlock with each other to give them extra strength. The room will be something like 2x2 max 4x4 metres long and 2 metres high. I have no Idea how thick the bricks have to be to hold the 2m earth that are going to be on top of it. I'll be making some durability tests but I have no idea how to test the tensile strength of those bricks. I cant afford an architect, engineer or any kind of workers. I have a budget of maybe 100eur a month. I might add rooms later to it. Now I need you to throw anything that will help me to construct this underground root cellar so I don't kill myself. 1 6630 Hi JW I just read your post and I find this situation quite strange.
