Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Concrete for external areas 2Jul 17, 2017 7:02 pm As far as I am aware standard brushed concrete is the cheapest and can be stencilled on later, tinted (but this fades with UV), painted or tiled on or you can leave it as it is. Aggregate concrete is more expensive than brushed concrete but once done you get the exposed aggregate so you dont need to paint it or change the appearance as it looks nice already. I think you need to seal it every now and then but I dont know. The problem some people find with aggregate is because it is exposed its not the most comfortable to walk on with bare feet compared to standard concrete and is a bit more expensive. You can go for polished concrete which is again more expensive however I dont think this is allowed outside due to slip risks (more for indoors etc). Before you rip it up, if you can in the grout lines, drill some holes and pour/inject techgrip by sika. I have used it to bond mdf to timber, but in the process it dripped… 1 4289 |
