Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 12, 2017 8:34 pm We are trying to do the Hampton's look with facade, grey weatherboard with basalt colourbond roof, can't decide if we do fascias in basalt or surfmist? Wondering if surfmist is white enough or too cream and will clash with white windows/trims? Anyone have photos they could share? Re: Surfmist fascias - any photos to share? 3Jul 13, 2017 12:16 am Hi Ezza78. I have Surfmist roof, gutters and fascias and would have chosen white windows if I was going to do a Hamptons Style Facade. I've always thought that Surfmist has a white/very light grey tone. Cream is not a favourite colour of mine. I would be confirming the tones used in Surfmist with a paint supplier to help with your colour selections. I have similar to what you're planning - my roof and gutters are Woodland Grey and fascia is Surfmist. However the cladding and render haven't been painted to their final colour yet, so the yellow sand render might throw off the colours a bit. Hope it helps. Decisions are hard!!!! It looks really good with the facade (though I'm having second thoughts about the combo of white with the face bricks we chose on our side walls, doh!). Can I just ask another question, what colour are your barge ends? Are they painted in surfmist or white? And if I do the fascias in surfmist, do I change the downpipes to same as gutters or fascias? Hi again, I think (If I have understood what you mean correctly, am not 100% on tech terms) that the barge ends are made of the same material as the cladding, so are currently unpainted. They eventually will be painted the same colour as the render. Our downpipes on the rendered section are surfmist. Our garage door will be surfmist too.
