Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building with fowler homes??? 6Oct 10, 2017 10:41 am Hi all, We have now exchanged contracts and in Production for 20 days with a start date of 6th Nov. Has anyone who has built with Fowler previously found that the slab has gone down earlier than the 20 day period? Thanks Re: Who's building with fowler homes??? 7Mar 19, 2019 10:19 am Hi, Who is building with Fowler homes in Sydney? We are at Elara, Marsden aprk. Thanks, Stage28 Hey Stage28, We're building with Fowler but in Hunter Valley not Sydney. Currently about midway through construction. Admin stage was very slow for us (due to repetitive paperwork mistakes on Fowler's end) - number 1 thing that I'd recommend would be to extend your tender timeframe to at least 9 months. So far the finish looks nice. We really loved the flexibility of Fowler's designs and inclusions were pretty great when we went through. Having said that, we signed up mid 2017 🤔 Good luck! Re: Who's building with fowler homes??? 9Mar 20, 2019 10:20 am Thank you Newy-Jan. We signed up with Fowler in March 2017 with a promise that our land will register in April 2018. (Not a fault of Fowler) However our land developer Stockland delayed the registration by 12 months!! (What a shame on Stockland ) Our tender expired in Sep 2018 and we renewed it by 8 months that brings us to May 2019 (Already costed us good $$). Even if the land registers in April, it can take good 3 months (for approvals etc..) before they start construction. We already lost time and Money (Stress comes for free ) and we are bit worried about potential delays from builder in near future. We liked their designs and inclusions. So far the Admin staff have been communicating well. Midway through construction, it must be exciting for you!! I really recommend you to do due diligence before signing that building contract. And you're doing it right by asking here and the people who have availed their services. I frequently read some situations the same with yours and they always failed to conduct these steps: (1) Gather information (2) Check reviews (3) Validate your findings (4) Check if they comply with Home Building Act. (this protects your right as a homeowner and can help you get compensated for poor construction work and etc.) (5) Contract Review. Due diligence might seem pretty basic but trust me, it helps.
