Builders prices for lights are ridiculous, we are building double storey so felt very stuck, having to pay the exorbitant prices so we can get what we want during construction. my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 142Jan 16, 2018 9:30 am Yeah it's a bit of a pain with the floor truss system that BTH offer to try and do your own stuff in the ceilings after handover! It's the same for most 2 storey builders Find my build thread here: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=88694&f=31&p=1729530#p1729530 Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 143Jan 18, 2018 9:30 pm My worst fears have come true the bricks have started leaching after that downpour we had on Tuesday. They'll have to cleaned again prior to handover, but I'm really hoping this isn't going to be an ongoing issue. But on the bright side at least it’s before handover and still the builders problem. Those tiles in the niche are amazing! my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 145Jan 18, 2018 10:01 pm Just hope that it can be sorted and not be a problem after handover! Yeah we absolutely love those tiles. Wish we could have afforded to do more of them. Yeah we absolutely love those tiles. Wish we could have afforded to do more of them. I think the fact that they are not everywhere or dominant makes them pop even more and makes more of a statement anyway Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 147Jan 21, 2018 6:24 pm Purchased our flooring on Friday 126m² of these click-in vinyl planks that I am going to lay myself. The guys over at 'Carpets and Floors at Yours' were fantastic and gave us a great deal. Found the product cheaper online and they were able to bring their price down to beat it and were generally pretty good to deal with. To top if off, they've offered to hold our stock until we need it in a few weeks! We will be going to them in a couple weeks to get our carpets measured and quoted up too. Fully ducted reverse cycle throughout the home with a MyAir controller and even added a vent to the Ensuite for those warm summer days and nights when you're trying to get ready to head out and can't stop sweating haha Can't wait to be able to control the aircon from our phone's too! Especially as when i lived up north getting ready in an already stuffy bathroom on a 40 degree day was horrendous. Will have to keep that in mind Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 151Jan 21, 2018 10:37 pm Definitely recommend! We've only got evap where we are living now, so when it's humid it does next to nothing and the fan in the bathroom isn't the best either. This should solve all of those issues Find my build thread here: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=88694&f=31&p=1729530#p1729530 Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 153Jan 21, 2018 10:57 pm Cheap to run, but not the best outcome. Can't wait for new aircon either! First world problems hey 😂 Find my build thread here: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=88694&f=31&p=1729530#p1729530 Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 156Jan 22, 2018 10:41 am Good that it didn't cost you any extra! I put an extra vent in the main bathroom but was thinking more for heating in the winter with two little kiddies... cost another $200! I'm also thinking of putting a vent in the dressing room for the same reasons you've listed - that's where I'll be drying my hair and getting ready so don't want to be a hot sweaty mess when doing that Also cannot wait for ducted r/c again - evap in our rental is just awful. Why anyone would pay to put that system in their house is beyond me. It is next to useless!! We have it on, full fans going, and have a fan pointing directly at us overnight and we are still too hot. Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 157Jan 26, 2018 9:05 am Popped in this morning before we take off for the weekend and was delighted to see a hive of activity at the house. Our pavers are delivered, the tiler was on site to do some touch ups and the garage doors were being delivered and possibly being installed! Very happy customers Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ 1 comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Find my build thread here: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=88694&f=31&p=1729530#p1729530 Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 158Jan 26, 2018 10:21 am Looks amazing my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: First Timer (Built By Momu @ Calleya) 160Jan 26, 2018 11:00 am Love your kitchen Building our first custom dream home. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair We purchased a 1960s property that is on timber stumps mostly, and a newer section is on concrete stumps.
